This isn't a review about the show itself, which is amazing by the way, but of the box set. The box is extremely sturdy and is covered by almost a fabric-like material. The dragon egg is also high quality and has some decent weight behind it which makes it a great paperweight. A must own for any Game of Thrones fans.

I don't have HBO so when I heard about this show getting such rave reviews, I bought the season 1 blu-ray set. I have to say that this show lives up to all their rave reviews. It is great mix of drama, thriller, action, comedy, dirty and violence. It is also unpredictable and the acting is some of the best you will see in tv and even movies. Too bad I won't be seeing season 2. I will wait for the blu-ray set.

I've heard a lot about this series but I haven't seen any myself until I purchased this box set. Needless to say I am very impressed! From the opening title on, everything is easy to understand and the action continues with each character introduced. I look forward to watching the other seasons as they are released.

I shall start my quest in watching GOT!! Purchased this GOT season 1 Blu-ray at Walmart for about $18 buckaroos! Couldn't resist this deal and i have not yet watched any GOT episodes, great way to start! Lately I've been occupied with TV shows such as TWD, FearTWD, Better Call Saul and The Americans! So here's my chance to get into the wicked Realm of GOT! Packaging and discs were in excellent condition!

Even though I have not yet read the books the series is based on, I quickly became a fan. Excellent story line, cinematography, and cast hooked me in the first episode and I eagerly await each new episode. I am glad to now own Season 1 on bluray. I also bought gift copies for my daughter and son, both strong fans of the series. Best Buy's new release sale price was also $20 below competitors' pricing (including Amazon). Thanks for the savings.

The series follows the book almost exactly with a few minor details left out. If you have read the books, you know what I am talking about. For those who haven't read the books, please do. The plot is full of suspense with awesome picture and sound. Note: For those with older Blu-Ray Players (4-5 yrs old) that aren't progressive scan that have been discontinued with no further firmware updates available, update your player with progressive capabilities. Why: If your player isn't progressive scan, some discs maybe unreadable. I had that issue & fixed it by using another Blu-Ray player with progressive scan capabilities. Don't Forget to check for firmware updates for your Blu-Ray player.

I've never seen this show until about a week ago. Bought the first 2 seasons on Black Friday figuring I'd get around to them eventually. I'm embarrassed it took me so long. I flew through season 1 in 2 days and was glad to have season 2 to start immediately. The characters are well developed, you care about them, or what you want done to them. The cinematography is beautiful with the settings of the series. I'm hooked.

From start to the very last scene, this is one of the best series I have ever watched. The story line is great, the Bluray is great..........just go ahead and get it you won't regret it.

Game of Thrones in any format is awesome! This comes in a steelbook and has a sigil magnet. Unable to try the Dolby Atmos but great for collectors.. especially if you haven't purchased the season yet. The fact that it has the digital copy of the entire season is another bonus! Highly recommended!

Game of Thrones is a masterpiece. After watching the first episode of Season 1, I was hooked. I'm now half-way through Season 3 and trying to get caught up before Season 6 starts in April! The acting is exceptional, the theme song will constantly be stuck in your head and the end of each episode will leave you wanting more. I highly recommend this series!

Wow. Since watching this season, George RR Martin's tale A Song of Ice and Fire is never far from my mind. Every character he writes is unique with their own motivations. The translation to screen of his first book, "A Game of Thrones" is masterfully done. It captures the novel perfectly over 10 episodes, leaving very little to be desired. Thanks to HBO, I am now obsessed!

I heard some good things about the book series and T.V. series. I decided to buy the DVD to see what it was all about. I am enjoying the series, but I have always enjoyed this type of movie. Those not familiar with it should be aware that it is adult themed, and take the ratings very seriously. There is violence, blood and s3xual content in each episode. If you do not mind these elements, and you enjoy fantasy adventure themes, this may be a good purchase for you. I have enjoyed it so far. On the other hand, my wife has been more mixed on it but continues to watch it with me. Overall, I am not sure it has lived up to some of the hype I heard, but I am well entertained and thought the price for the entire series was very good.

Love this show! Love that HBO has now opted to package their BluRay set with the DVDs and more importantly (to me) the Digital copy which I was able to put both in iTunes and on UltraViolet so I have many access options. Show itself is well done, I'd say it's a can't miss ;)

So this past summer I finally decided to watch Game of Thrones. It was something I was quite hesitate to do since there is so much hype for this series but there is such good reason for the hype because the series is really that great! This series has left me wanting so much more! Its a must watch!

I have read all the books in the Song of Ice and Fire series and man does this show get it right! The casting the costumes, the action. All of it done to perfection. You will fly through all of the DVDs and want to watch them all over again. Trust me, I have! Game of Thrones is AWESOME!! Buy this today!

Being late to get on the Game of Thrones bandwagon, I was anxious to grab the Blu-Ray of the first season. Great decision! HBO has given the season a stellar home release, in regards to video, audio and special features. Don't hesitate to pick up this great item and kick-off the first part of this epic tale.

I love this adaptation of the Martin books. They did an amazing job and it really incorporates everything that you love about the books. If you've never read the books, it's just a great show with an amazing plot that twists and turns keeping you on the edge of your seat. I'd highly recommend watching the series!

I think this is one of the best shows on tv right now and this blu ray release is awesome! The special features that accompany this great show are really impressive. I love learning about all the backstory only hinted at in the show. It adds even more depth to an already immersive show.

An excellent adaptation of the book series. The show is an excellent example of scripted shows done right with the right combination of compelling story driven by multi-dimensional characters. Blu-ray box set comes with excellent extras to help round out extra information for fans of the show/ book series.

This is a great television show. What they are able to do with a relatively limited budget is amazing. The world creation on display is top notch. The acting is excellent. The show is endlessly entertaining. The only complaint I have is that there are so few episodes per season.
