I have always enjoyed movies and shows set in the Renaissance period and separately, have enjoyed movies and books in the fantasy genre. This show is a combination of both, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Since this review is on the dvd set as well.. The DVDs came in perfectly new condition and work. I got the standard version over the HD because I do not have a blue ray player. Yes, don't judge me. Anyway, it's cheaper and the visual quality suffices for my taste. I dislike that there are only two episodes per disc, but each episode is an hour long. My only complaint is that I have to get up and change it more often (seemingly more frequently than other shows, albeit probably not realistically). But I won't dock a star for that because this show is that good. BUY IT!! You won't regret it.

you cant go wrong with this dvd. I bought this dvd separately from the set. it was priced great and all the seasons were available. I needed only this one dvd to complete my set.

This series is by far one of my favorites. I love the drama, the action, and the weird love/relationships that develop. Often times I find myself confused by the various relationships, but in a good way. Also, this show requires your full attention to understand that various power relationships and struggles that are going on in all parts of the country and across the sea as well. What is so great, yet so frustrating, is the fact that often, large plot points are unpredictable. I would say that I am most frustrated that this show will kill ANYONE. No one is safe, not even main characters. I cannot wait for season four to begin! I have recommended this show to so many friends. And in turn, now there are lots of people I work with and other friends who are OBSESSED. This show will consume you.

Season 3 is the aftermath of Season 2 and build up to the surprise episode is all worth it. Saw it on HBO and told myself when it comes out on blu-ray I'm definitely getting it. Upon the end of the 3rd season I had to start reading GRRM books to gain a better understanding of what the hell is going on this crazy but awesome series! Read the books I recommend it as well. I'm a big fan and can't wait to see S4 and complete reading the books based on this amazing series. The product comes in a very nice laid out package very similar to S1 and S2. I like the art design of the dragon which is the one I bought. Overall it is very worth it even if you have to buy it after the sale, definitely get it if you're a fan of GOT series on HBO!

I don't have HBO as a part of my tv subscription, but I was seeing all of the hype about this series, so I signed up for HBO Now/Go for a free month trial. I watched through all of the seasons of Game of Thrones during the trial. All seasons are all really good. They are definitely adult only, but they have a story line that pulls you in and you can't wait to see what happens next. I'm glad I didn't have to wait for a week between episodes. I bought the BluRay sets so i can own them, and also for the special features. I may have to get HBO for a month when season 7 starts. I have preordered season 6 which comes out on BluRay in November.

I previously owned the Best Buy exclusive slipcover release of Season 3, but when they released Game of Thrones as Steelbooks, I had to double dip! Sold off my slipcover version and now I have the first 3 seasons on Steelbook, and will get 4th when price drops, and others when they're out. This season of Game of Thrones was a big tipping point where a LOT of stuff went down, and I'm sure many newer fans started around the ending of this season. For fans, this release is just a ncie packaging, but if you have a nice home theater setup, it is the only way to get the Dolby Atmos mix of this show in these Steelbook discs.

I loved the first two seasons and this one has been pretty spectacular.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like that the single set offers you both Blue Ray and standard DVD formats. This way I can watch it on my laptop or DVD player, or even download it to my iPad. I just recently watched the bonus features and was pretty impressed. I also appreciated that both the action sequences and the quieter, dramatic acting moments have really good sound mixing so you don't have to keep turning the volume up and down to hear the actors and then minimize the action. The picture can be a little sketchy on occasion on the digital download but that's just a by-product of digital use.

Absolutely LOVE this show and cast. It’s a great series about several medieval families and their battles over time. Did I mention the dragons? And a surprising bit of horror for those who enjoy a little terror. Also, Best Buy always has a great variety of movies and tends to have what I’m looking for in store rather and old classic, a new release, or tv series. I’m very happy with my purchase and have even hooked my neighbors on this show. Of course I advised them to go to Best Buy for immediate access rather than ordering it online (ok, so I was VERY excited lol). #HOUSESTARK

The third season continues where the second ends and its non stop action. So much is going on that after yopu watch it the first time I recommend watching it again and if u can watch it with the commentaries so that u really can understand what is going on. Plenty of extras are included on the bluray like going inside the wildlings beyond the wall. 12 commentaries are included with the cast and crew to help with all the background that u may not know, have seen that is really essential for total enjoyment of the series. There are many many more extras that I have yet to get into yet because there is so much there to explore.

Loved the first two season and waited a dragon's age for this latest season to become available! I binged-watched with barely a bathroom break between disc changes. I waited months for this set to come out, and now I'll have a solid year or more waiting for season 4. I may have to just go back and watch them all from the very first episode -- it's that good. You don't have to have read the series of books to enjoy this show (I didn't) and I'm wondering if it might not be an advantage to not know what's coming next -- it would have been a huge spoiler to see what was coming in that last episode of the season!

Having read all the books it is fun to see how they are portrayed in a film format. It is great to see how close the directors’ vision is to that what I envisioned as I read the books. I do like the inclusion of the new characters that were not in the books as it adds newness to the viewing experience. It would be nice to have a previously on "Game of Thrones" catch up segment as the people in my family had some issues remembering who was who because of the vast majority of characters.

I have loved the series ever since I first came across it on HBO. The story had me hooked with its various characters, plots and twists. With a generally no named/non-American actor cast, the show has wonderful acting. It is always interesting to see the adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin put to screen. That being said, anyone who watches the show, I recommend also reading the books. Not only do you get a better grasp of the story but you also get more insight and information that may not be conveyed as well on screen (e.g. inner thoughts of characters, plot points, etc.)

So worth it! I love buying the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital combo packs. GOT is a show that you like to share with others & I have been reeling in some friends by lending out te DVD set to those who missed the beginning & don't have HBO. So, in the very near future, they will be borrowing S3. This particular season was so good & took many twists & turns. It even strays a bit from the book. Not too far but there are differences. If you already like the show, you should buy. If you are curious about the show & keep hearing people talk about it, you should start your DVD collection now!

HBO has stepped it up with their recent offerings opting to include both Blu-ray & DVD discs in one package along with download codes for digital HD copies from iTunes (Which can be downloaded to your PC/Mac, Apple TV and Apple mobile devices) & Ultraviolet (Which can be viewed through a few different streaming services available on Some Blu-Ray players, gaming consoles, Apple and Android mobile devices). Overall an excellent release for a great show at a decent price.

I'm a long time fan of the show. I love the various settings, from the darkness of Winterfell to the lush greenery of King's Landing. The costumes are wonderful. This show has a little something for everyone...knights, sword masters, even dragons! It is a unique mixture of medieval times and fantasy. There were a few scenes that I found rather disturbing, but that's what the fast forward button is for. The blu ray provides interesting background information on characters, settings, and histories. Love this show! Can't wait for the next season!

If you have not taken the time to watch this series, you need to! You don't know what you are missing out on! Everything is done so well. The acting/actors, sound track, directing, etc. This is the first and only TV Series I have ever purchased. I can watch it more than once, twice, or even three times and it gets better every time. I will admit that I have not read the books before watching, but after watching the first three seasons, I have started reading the first book. Seriously, watch this. You won't regret it.
