I wish I would have went with my initial gut feeling, and bought something else. I installed the camera and set up the app in my phone. The unit was working beautifully and I was very impressed. Every feature worked flawlessly. Well, not even a week after owning it, I kept getting a audible alert saying the camera was not aligned. Then, got an error message saying there was a memory card error. All of my previously saved pictures and video from the card vanished and were not accessible from the computer. When trying to record new video I get the “Camera control” error from the app. I’ve replaced the card, reset the device, deleted and re-added the device from Bluetooth, deleted the app and reinstalled, and tried everything. This device is now useless. Don’t waste your money on this device. Had I not thrown the box away, this thing would be at the return desk at Best Buy tomorrow. Total junk. I hope Garmin sees this review.

It now tells you that you do not have a data connection to your phone even though you have full bars. This means it is unable to play music or do anything other than record video. Read the reviews where other users are having this same issue on the Garmin Drive app. Their customer service is not helpful, in spite of all the people reporting the exact same issue at the same time they claim it is just my unit that needs replaced.

The Garmin dēzl™ series includes detailed maps for North America that also include truck-related restrictions – like bridge heights, sharp curves, weight limits and more – and related information for most major roads and highways.
