This new one is only 700 watts and needs a full minute to heat up a slice if pizza. Our old model needed only 30 ssconds. My advice, get sonething 900 watts or higher. Not sure why thus smaller version has to be so much weaker.

Takes to turns at 2min to get things heated. So if that's what you are seeking, this is the microwave for you.

I called GE to see if there was a quick fix, but they said to return the product to Best Buy.....easier said than done as I do not have a car. After experimenting I finally figured out a way to get the door open but it requires pushing down on the upper right corner of the door while simultaneously pushing in on the “opener” with the other hand. Very disappointed with this purchase.
