Replaced it with a Breville of like size and wattage, 1000w. We built our house in 1993 with all GE appliances. We replaced all of them with much better appliances. In 2019 we made the same mistake but again got rid of the GE microwave in 2019 after less than a year of use.

I would have to unplug and plug back in to hope that it would work again. Once I did plug back in, it would still not respond to the buttons. I would have to leave it and come back minutes later when it would work. This would go on and on. I called GE to place warranty request. A tech came and determined that GE has no parts available for this unit, except for the spinning glass plate and the turntable for the plate. I now have to buy one out of my own pocket and wait for GE to send me a check for the amount of the new purchase.

Wish I had purchased a larger one so tall cups would fit inside. Burned popcorn the first couple of times, as it seems to take less time to cook that our previous one, even with the popcorn setting.

Many times I have had to unplug it to restart the machine. I would not advise buying this microwave and I would take it back if I were closer to a Best Buy.

We would recommend pressing the Sound pad to ensure the sound was not inadvertently muted. If that is not the issue, try disconnecting power to the microwave for 2-3 minutes and try it again.
