    Can't read the panel

We've only had this microwave 6 weeks but neither my husband or myself is able to read the panel. We initially thought there was a malfunctioning light behind the panel but no such luck. It is amazing that GE has not corrected it. I wish I'd read the reviews more carefully before purchasing. In 2016 people were complaining about not being able to read the panel. Here we are 7 years later and the problem has not been fixed. The panel is also a black, shiny material so when we use a flashlight to better see the letters and numbers, it does not work either because the light reflects in the panel.

    Beware of Open Box

I purchased this microwave recently. It was listed as an OPEN BOX EXCELLENT CONDITION. It arrived yesterday with the microwave rattling around loose inside the box. The box was in terrible condition as shown in the photos. I didn't bother opening the box because it obviously wasn't in EXCELLENT condition. I'm very disappointed with Best Buy. I did call customer service and the only "help" they could offer was to send me another Open Box microwave and waive additional shipping costs to get it to me by Christmas...lol. Now I have to wait for UPS to contact me to schedule a pickup. I won't get my money back for 2-3 weeks. Beware of Open Box items from Best Buy.

Would be an excellent appliance if it came with any kind of reasonable "how to use" guide.

Poor Quality and Limited Warranty-Not Recommended

This product is low quality, even though it's from a well-known brand. The brand only offers a one-year warranty and has no replacement parts, so it’s basically disposable. Mine lasted just 1 year and 3 months before the screen started showing incomplete codes and numbers. I only used it to heat food and not often. I don’t recommend it.

So far so good. The appeal was the air fry feature which I really wanted but didn't want to lose any counter space. I blew up a plastic bottle of crystalized honey in my previous microwave, so what better excuse to buy a new unit with this feature. It's also very reasonably priced. First off, this thing is dead silent. The quietest microwave I've ever operated by far. Like another user commented it would be great if the buttons were illuminated, but that's a feature you're hard pressed to find at this price point. Secondly, this unit is pretty darn compact. The dimensions were practically identical to the unit I was replacing (a Panasonic). The finish is even identical. This thing is also very powerful at 1050 watts. My previous unit was 1100 or 1200 watts, but those 50-150 watts you're likely not going to miss. Speaking of power, you may want to note that the plug is a down angle cord. I had to buy a swivel extension plug from Amazon, because this plug was sharing the same receptacle as my refrigerator, which is also a down angle plug/cable. Thirdly, and this is actually a negative that another buyer commented on: full manual has to be downloaded off GE's website. You're going to need it with how many features this unit has besides Air Fry. For instance, the included quick manual says you need to use the tall rack for Air Frying, but there's a short rack with silicone feet also included and no mention of what it should be used for. Turns out you're supposed to use if for Combo Cooking. I found that using the tall rack actually burns food during Air Fry because it's so close to the heating element above, so I'm not sure why GE is telling you to only use it for Air Frying. I found that the short rack with orange silicone feet works much better. All in all I'm quite happy with this purchase and am excited to try other features and different foods.

Do not buy unless you want to be cooking with fire literally. Come to find out there is an issue with the motor combusting into flames.

It gets hot even just making popcorn. Also, it does not allow you to add your own minutes, it came fixed at 1 minute minimum. It's cumbersome to use, the menu.

    Best of Both Worlds

Our washer died and since we got such a good deal on the replacement from Best Buy as well as 18 months no interest, we decided to relace our aging microwave and wanted to also free up storage space in the kitchen by eliminating the bulky air fryer we got as a hand-me-down. This model takes up the same amount of space as our old microwave, is way quieter, and performs perfectly. There are some quirks to operation that you will only discover by reading the manual and using it as instructed, so I would strongly recommend not tossing the book in the trash. The air fryer function is very easy to use and I appreciate the “HOT!” warning the screen gives me when turning something being air fried. Make sure you are only using the high-rise platform when it is necessary. Most stuff you can air fry using the shorter one. I saw other reviews for this model when I was comparing and almost all of them that complained about it burning were putting their food up too high and too close to the heating element.

Microwave air fry combination works great. Panel should be lighted too hard to read - must use flashlight to see panel selections. Manual does not have enough details on how to use other functions. If you don't mind going to the internet to see how to use other functions, then this microwave combination is for you. I have tried the other functions and they all work great.

Sure! Here's a review of the GE 1.0 Cu. Ft. Convection Countertop Microwave with Air Fry in Black Stainless Steel: I recently purchased the GE 1.0 Cu. Ft. Convection Countertop Microwave with Air Fry in Black Stainless Steel, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. This microwave not only functions as a regular microwave but also offers the added convenience of convection cooking and air frying. The black stainless steel design gives it a sleek and modern look that complements my kitchen perfectly. It's a compact size, making it ideal for countertop use without taking up too much space. The convection feature is a game-changer. It allows me to bake, roast, and brown foods quickly and efficiently. I no longer need to use my oven for small to medium-sized dishes, saving me time and energy. The results are consistently delicious, with evenly cooked and crispy food. The air fry function is another standout feature. It ensures that my favorite fried foods are crispy and golden on the outside while remaining moist and flavorful on the inside. It offers a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying, using little to no oil. The control panel is user-friendly, with intuitive buttons and a clear digital display. It offers various cooking presets, including options for popcorn, potatoes, vegetables, and more. The microwave also comes with a sensor cooking feature, which automatically adjusts the cooking time and power level based on the food's moisture content. One minor drawback is that the microwave can be a bit noisy when in use, especially during the convection cooking mode. However, this is a small inconvenience considering the overall performance and versatility of the appliance. In conclusion, the GE 1.0 Cu. Ft. Convection Countertop Microwave with Air Fry in Black Stainless Steel is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. It combines the functionality of a microwave, convection oven, and air fryer, providing endless cooking possibilities. Its sleek design, efficient cooking performance, and healthy cooking options make it a worthwhile investment. I highly recommend it.

I had to replace my old microwave (it was 37 years old) and looked on online and found this on the Best Buy site. The product is very easy to use and the price was amazing. My elderly father with Dementia was able to figure out the features and use it right away too. Great value, with a lot of great features. Was really excited that it works as a microwave, convection oven and air fryer.

The panel is dark and difficult to see in low lighting. I have to turn on a light to push the right button. The microwave oven works great. It’s easy to clean with a stainless steel interior. The price was affordable and it has several functions. It can has convection abilities, microwave, and air fry. I tried to air fry fries. Not so tasty result. I’ll try again with yam fries.

Not Bad but Not Great Either

I wanted to try a combo device to replace my old microwave & air fryer. Went with this GE because it was a brand I recognized & was on sale for a decent price. It was 0.1 cubic feet larger & had an extra 150 watts of power than what I am used to. The instructions are very sparse so took some trial & error to figure out but it was not hard. As a microwave, this works just like you would expect. Food heats up quickly & the tray rotates. Sometimes it does act weird in that no matter what button I press, it beeps & says "food". The only way to get rid of this and get it to work is to open & close the door. As an air fryer, it is OK but I am still confused by the convection oven setting. They both look like they do the same thing: heating element on top & fan in the back. The fan keeps blowing even after use which I am not really is necessary. The convection oven setting does not seem to work right as it keeps beeping and .... stopping? Not sure what it is doing so I just use the air fryer option instead since it looks like it does the same thing without any weird stuff going on. All of the weight is on the side with the buttons which makes it uneven to move/lift (the left side swings around very easily while the right requires a lot more effort). Overall I like it, do wish the buttons lit up but otherwise I would recommend this. There is another version with a different model number but same description & price so not sure what the difference is or which is better.

So far, so good. Microwave functions as expected. Air fryer is a plus. Also very quiet. Had to download the manual. Not as helpful as I had hoped. Agree with others that keypad is hard to read in low light. Still haven't made much use of the convection or broiler functions.
