After our built-in Whirlpool microwave stopped working about a month ago, we opted for a countertop microwave that we could relocate to a different room later down the road until we repair or get a replacement for the one that broke. So far, we are pleased by the size and ease of use with GE microwave. We decided to get a GE brand because we have found all their products to be reliable. When we bought our home, the builders installed all Whirlpool products. In less than 2 years, the range hood and dishwasher broke. These were brand new appliances, which we ended up replacing with GE. Fast forward 5 years later and now the built-in microwave broke (which is part of a microwave/oven combo unit). This was to be expected since the KitchenAid appliances (also made by Whirlpool) eventually failed in our previous home. I know it's only been a month of ownership, but this countertop GE microwave has been working well for us so far. The capacity isn't quite as big as our built-in microwave; however, it's big enough to heat up almost everything we need. It seems slightly bigger than the microwaves you would find in a hotel room and the usability is practically the same. My only concern about this unit is the push button for opening the door. It seems like a part that could eventually fail over time unlike a door with a pull handle. It's not really a big deal to have a push button as it probably serves as a safety feature to keep little kids from reaching for a handle that they could easily break. Overall, we're very satisfied so far and hope that GE will live up to its reputation. All the GE products we've owned so far have been very reliable, so we're expecting this microwave to last a lot longer than the 7-year-old built-in unit that failed on us.

My GE - 1.1 cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave is a very nice addition to my kitchen appliances and is certainly one that I use more than nearly all other appliances. It is reliable, large enough for virtually all of my needs, is very simple to use, and it looks AWESOME. What a great design! The stainless steel/black combo is sleek and gives the microwave a rich look that belies its inexpensive selling price.

It's good size for a small space. Quiet. The door feels a little clunky and it's hard to put in a time if you just want 45 seconds. Other than that, works great and a good price.

Works great and has a smaller profile than my previous GE 1.1 cu feet microwave so takes up less counter space.

This microwave is easy to use, heats food quickly, and looks great with its stainless steel finish. The one-touch cooking buttons are very convenient, and it’s the perfect size for most kitchens.

Very quiet. After each run time whether 30 seconds or minutes you must hit the end button to disengage the door lock. Not a fan of this step but I'm use to it now. Does the job well for time to temperature

I bought this microwave to replace my 20-year-old Kenmore. It was hard to find a microwave. That was all stainless steel and had a lighter interior. It definitely doesn’t seem as well-made as my Kenmore; it feels more plastic was used. But in general, it had what I was looking for in terms of size and stainless steel exterior. I don’t use it that often so the noise level does not bother me. Just to note that in addition to the blue protective film around the exterior, there is an separate protective film over the entire control panel – I was reading a few other reviews where people were trying to peel only the yellow sticker. Wish I could have fixed my kenmore, but this will do! 

Our built-in microwave quit right before the holidays and there was no time or money to call someone to come in and do the whole dance to get it going or replace it. We decided to find the least expensive counter-top model we could find to get us through. We depend on the Microwave, as my wife is severely disabled. Research and my Best Buy Card made this unit the obvious choice. It is larger than we had expected to be able to get for the price and the results when using it are always just amazing! The controls are a little funky and the labels a little hard to see in the light where we have it located, but the controls are like the new units now and we are just not used to them yet. In fact they are the only reason I did not rate it 5 stars.They do not provide a manual with the product but they have a website where it can be downloaded (free) and they will snail mail you a complete manual at no cost. It works great and we thought we would donate it or give it away after we replace the built in, but this unit is not going anywhere. We are in no hurry to replace the old one that died. Great buy for 79 bucks!

I Love that Microwave. It works well and heats up fast. The heat is strong

We've had this GE - 1.1 Cu.Ft. Mid-Sized, Stainless Steel Microwave for a little over a year now. We use it a few times a week, give or take and it is still going strong. The buttons are easy to use. It isn't very loud, compared to previous microwaves I've had. It's a little bigger than we need day to day for 1 to 2 people and the small amount it's used, but because of that, I think it may last longer. This would be great for a family of 4 or more, in my opinion. All in all, it does it's job well and I recommend this product.

Heating can be uneven. I returned the first microwave to BB for a dysfunctional power button. That was not the case. The GE instruction manual is so poorly written that it fails to mention how the power button is engaged. On the phone with a GE rep, even HER instructions were wrong. I had to school her as I navigated the process in real time. Bad branding, GE!

By far the quietest microwave I ever had. I put it in my man cave with tv refrigerator and computer, can easly hear tv. Lighting in this room is a little dim at times and the control functions are hard to see so I keep a small flashlight handy. And I disabled the child proof lock per instructions. all in all a very good product and I would recommend it.

Microwave works well. Purchased because of the price and the GE reputation. Heats items quickly and is easy to clean. Is not as spacious as I would like, but I knew that when purchasing. Overall, it was a solid buy.

This replaced the same, but now inoperable model. Definitely quieter than the previous one with a few upgrades to it. Does the job very well. - no complaints at all.

The defrost function is also reliable and doesn’t partially cook the food like some microwaves tend to do. Another thing I like is that it runs relatively quietly compared to others I’ve owned. The door opens and closes smoothly, and the interior is easy to clean, which is a big plus for everyday use. If I had to mention a minor downside, it would be that the keypad requires a firm press at times, but it’s nothing major and doesn’t affect overall usability. Overall, this microwave is a great value for the price. It’s reliable, efficient, and looks great on the counter. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable, no-fuss microwave that gets the job done well.
