Even though it took a little while to get used to the lock feature I do like it!

The only problem (and it's big problem for me) - It's impossible to turn off sounds on this microwave, and it's really loud.

It is a good size and we like the safety button after heating so as to caution against burns. Reasonably priced good performance good purchase!

I would give it five stars except for the door latch is a hard push - tough for those with hand issues (arthritis, carpal tunnel etc). Otherwise, very pleased.

Posted .Countertop microwaves now have a two-step child lock safety feature for opening the door while the microwave is running and when the cooking cycle has ended. This is a safety feature meant to minimize accidental door openings while foods and liquids are being heated. You can turn off the two-step safety feature, like in households without young children or where users may have physical limitations that make it difficult to operate the child resistant door. To disable the door lock:
1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release.
2. Press the “9” key. Release.
3. Press the “0” key. Release

Posted .Starting April 1st, all countertop microwave ovens come equipped with a Child Resistant Oven Door. The use of child-resistant oven door latches by all manufacturers of microwave ovens helps to reduce the likelihood of young children handling hot foods and beverages items. This safety feature can be disabled if not needed. 1. Press and hold the “7” key for 3-5 seconds or until you hear a beep. Release. 2. Press the “9” key. Release. 3. Press the “0” key. Release. There will be two shorts beeps and the display will flash "UnLo" to confirm the default condition has been updated successfully. -Vikki@GEAppliances
