No reason - just stopped. I could not get a refund from Best Buy (apparently one needs to pay for this option) and eventually got a check for the sale price from GE which should arrive in a few months after purchasing a new one. I am buying the same one, which indicates I like the features and am optimistic, and if it works for 2 years I will change my rating. Except for one previous one purchased from BB, my microwaves have lasted many years, so 2 years should be fair.

Love the fact that it has a light. Some we looked at didn’t have one. Easy to use. Just picked it up, plugged it in and we were good to go. Great price too !

If the door's two-step opening process isn't convenient, you can disable the child-resistant feature by following a few simple steps—press and hold the “7” key for 3–5 seconds, then press “9” and “0.” You’ll hear two beeps and see "UnLo" on the display, confirming the update. Great mid-size microwave

Has soft but clear green digital display. Everything about this microwave's aesthetics goes with the rest of my stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. Great design GE.

It works efficiently once you figure out the time needed for cooking. Slightly less wattage than the average 1,000 watts but works just as well. Happy with my purchase.

It's a little smaller (dimensions) than our previous one but we needed one that would fit in the same slot on the wall and this was the closest one. Inside dimensions are good, though.
