    Won't work after electricity off.

    Piece of crap. Bought this Dec 31, so less than 6 weeks ago. Weather freezing so electricity went off. Microwave won't work after electricity restored. Tried circuit breaker, everything, but won't work. Don't have car, can't leave apt, so how am I supposed to return it???

    Purchased this about 8 months ago. It was my fourth choice as apparently my local Best Buy doesn't stock much and I needed one that day. The unit is loud, heats up the dish and not the contents. Every time I would hit the "1" button for one minute heat, it would trip the breaker. No more GE products for me.

    Won't last, very disappointed

    Lasted 4 years then the interior paint started peeling off. Unacceptable.

      Hi there,

      We're awfully sorry to hear that the interior of your microwave has peeled and know how aggravating that is to deal with. Peeling paint can be caused by frequently heating items which produce high amounts of steam. If the condensation caused by this steam is not wiped off directly after use it may cause the paint to lift over time resulting in peeling paint. This is not unlike the reaction you would find in bathroom with no ventilation.

      It can also be caused when food or liquid finds itself under the tray and we continue to cook without noticing it. The paint around the spot may then start to peel.

      Note: If there is any metal exposed on the inside of the unit, the unit should not be used. Exposed metal may cause the unit to spark and therefore could be a potential fire hazard. Stay safe. Mike@GEA GE_Appliances

    Noise level was too high, protective covering on outer surface was impossible to fully remove and power was not adequate. Stainless finish retained smudges when touched making it look unsanitary.

    Malfunctioning after 2 yrs of light use

    Bought in Nov. of 2019, daily light use of just heating food of no more than 3 minutes. This month it starts to run after closing the door with cook timer not set yet. As per Google issue maybe with conttol board. Last Sharp microwave this replaced lasted 18 years. Waste of my money.

    Didn’t work right now of the box. When I tried to get help The manufacturer was useless and Best Buy wouldn’t come pick up the unit so I had to bring it back to the store. I ended up buying another brand.

    Readability is poor and no interior light

    I never know why I did not recognize bad readability of key pad at the store. Missing interior light is another defect. I am going to return this tomorrow.

    After 2 years it started rusting and the inside was growing some bobbles like it got too hot? Now it sparks which we are throwing away to avoid any damage.

    Not bad 'til it died 4 days out of warranty...

    Unit dies 4 days after the warranty expired!! Worked one day, didn't work the next. Won't be buying another GE product. :(

    A year after purchasing the microwave it started turning on whenever I closed the door and cut off at random. A year and a half later, the problem has progressively gotten worse and the microwave is barely useble.

    i purchased this microwave 4 months ago and used it sparingly, less than 1 time a day and it just stopped working. Do not purchase this GE micorwave.
