This would be discouraging and we can understand your disappointment. One of our favorite features of this microwave is the ability to defrost items either weight or by time.     Cooks well, but makes a lot of noise

    The food cooks as expected. But the rotating plate does not sit evenly on the bottom causing it to go up and down during rotations which makes a clanging noise when the plate bounces on the bottom.

    This one lasted just over a year. Just stopped working one day and that was it. Glad I had the Best Buy warranty. Which I will get for all of my appliances especially microwaves.

    DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE!!! GE DOES NOT SERVICE THIS MICROWAVE!! I would give this unit a negative rating if I could. I bought this new on 12/31/20 and it died on 2/3/21. I contacted GE service only to be told that they do not service this unit anymore! After emailing them my receipt and serial #, I have to wait for a Goodwill Certificate then spend my own money on a new unit (from what I understand the certificate will only be good for certain GE models) then I email the certificate and new receipt and wait 6 to 8 weeks for a rebate check.

    Dissgrace to GE name. Died on just shy of its 2nd birthday. Do not recommend. Frankly, every new micorwave (and most appliances) in general these days are made very low quality with no longevity at all, even if you pay top dollar.

    Try a Better Product or Roll the Dice with this

    I loved it until it died just shy of 90 days in use. I enjoyed the features of the microwave and read other reviews that said it died, but I tried it anyway. Welp guess what? It died... no flickering, no strange issues, no warning - just died.

    The fan rattles like an old car! Heats things up perfectly but every time I start or stop...then fan rattles like it is hitting the side. Will be returning. This replacement my 10+year old whirlpool microwave that came with the house. Wish we had it back (plate stop spinning, no longer evenly warmed up Food) RIP. They definitely don't make them like they use to.

    This Microwave was supposed to replace our previous GE profile microwave that had stopped working 3 times in 6 years. This microwave broke within the first 2 weeks and had to be returned. We are moving on from GE microwaves to another brand. They look great and then they break down.

    Third use death rattle & smoke!

    I bought this and set it up yesterday. The third time we used it just now (to defrost one chicken patty), it made a terrible really loud metal rattling sound (like if a piece of metal got stuck in a big box fan)! We shut it off right away, checked the airflow and that the turntable was seated properly, then restarted it. It immediately resumed making that noise and smoke started pouring into the oven area from the inner workings of the oven through the vent. This was NOT an open box. This was brand new. I have serious doubts about buying new GE appliances now. Do not buy this microwave!

    Have had the microwave for about 2 weeks and it worked great. The one touch buttons made cooking a breeze. Then one day while cooking frozen corn for 6 minutes the microwave overheated and shut off. It did eventually come back on. We had proper room around it.

      Hello there, we're very sorry to hear that your microwave overheated and shut itself off. This is certainly not what we expect for someone with the proper clearances, so we're happy to help. If the microwave shuts down during a cooking cycle and appears to have no power, check the house circuit breaker and verify the outlet is getting power. You can try plugging something else into the outlet, like a night light, lamp, etc. If the outlet is getting power, the microwave may have overheated as you said. If this is the case, you should have nothing else to worry about since the power returned to your unit. If it ever were to happen again, we just suggest you wait 30 minutes and then try to restore power. If the power doesn't return, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is useful information. - Guy@GEA GE_Appliances

    Pass on This Oven

    It had a loud vibrating noise from the beginning and STILL has it a year later. We’ve tried to get it to stop - nope. It’s obviously something inside. Add in the fact that you have to turn on the kitchen light to see the choices on the touchpad, the light is too dim to see inside what you’re cooking and they changed the door size just a tiny bit but enough that we couldn’t use the surround we used with the previous GE that was pretty much the same oven. That all adds up to a ONE star rating.

    I’m now replacing my second unit

    One of the worst products. My first one stopped working under 2 years. I bought another same model thinking the first unit may be wrong. Second one stoped working after 23 months. Now I’m again searching for one more to replace.

    The microwave looks nice, but when I peeled off the remove before using sticker, part of the microwave also peeled off! The microwave is very heavy - it was a pain to return it for a better one.

    I returned a malfunctioning microwave within 30 days of purchase. I had also purchased an extended warranty When I returned the malfunctioning microwave, I was provided a new replacement, but my extended warranty was cancelled. I thought my return would be covered by the mfg warranty, given the short amount of time. I thought my extended warranty would carry over to the new microwave- but it did not

    I worked for a Medical Equipment manufacturer, GE purchased. They removed all the quality from the products justified by cost savings. The equipment arrived at the end user Dead on Arrival complaints came in and customers went elsewhere. As I'm doing with this piece of junk I purchased this 5/22 dead today 3/27/23. Take your chances I did not like having to use my oven to heat my instant oatmeal

    We purchased this along with a GE Gas Range for a new Kitchen renovation. So far the gas range has been great, however, this microwave is a total dud. After using it to just reheat coffee 3 times, the microwave is useless. It sounds like a hammer is going off inside. Tried to checking to make sure the turntable was stable, It was. But the microwave does not work.I have been working with GE customer service to replace, but after talking to them twice and exchanging numerous emails, it has been one hassle after another. I do not recommend this product, at all.
