It was heavier than todays micros and it lasted about 35 years, with vigorous use. So i replaced with new GE and also bought a GE MICROWAVE as a gift.. Great reliability means loyal customer. Time will tell, but i don't expect 35 years out of these. Probably not built as good, because price is way much less than the first one i bought.

Microwave Powerhouse

This microwave has proven to be a powerhouse as everything is cooked / warmed up in this unit. So happy I purchased this unit as opposed to the other units available. GE has always been a good product and still is!

Just right amount of controls

Not so many that wouldn't be used anyway. And the turntable holds my largest Corningware casserole dish. I like the beep reminder after the cycle is done and I can't get to it right away. The only negative is that I wish the door opened a little wider and didn't start to close on its own.

One item of note; when the device is turned on, it is slightly louder for a moment or two and then quiets down. Never had a microwave do that. Otherwise, I recommend the item.
