Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I REALLY REALLY wanted this microwave because it fit the available space well and it replaced a current well used GE microwave. I tried- 3 times!! This is the only negative review I have ever written. GE Microwave #1- shipped from BestBuy to home. After cooking in it for 7-9 min. it shut down every time. The top of it on the right side was so hot you could not even touch it. We finally put it on the counter to see if ventilation was an issue but it did the same thing. It would power back up after cooling off. GE Microwave # 2- shipped form Best Buy to home. It had been used.. The glass plate was missing and there was spots and scratches on the microwave. We left it sitting on the counter and it also over heated and never did power up again. GE Microwave # 3 - Store purchase . It sat on counter and it also overheated and the top of it was so hot that it was untouchable and eventually shut down. It powered back up after 20 min. Even when defrosting and there was no heated item in microwave it was extremely hot on outside. I had done my research and this was rated well but now after digging around a little more there is some current issues regarding overheating. I hope this issue will be resolved!! Best buy store that was taking back these returned orders deserves 5 stars as they were trying to be helpful. I finally ordered a different brand.
