When we plugged it in, the light and turntable came on instantly--without us touching any buttons. (Panic-- because the paperwork inside the microwave was cooking!) We tried pushing the cancel button, but the microwave would not stop running. Opening the door stopped the carousel and fan, but when the door was closed, it all started again. The trouble shooting instructions focused on a microwave that would NOT START. However, it had nothing written on one that would NOT STOP! Definitely a defective item and not safe to 'live' in my home. Weirdest appliance experience ever! On the bright side, BestBuy took it back without any problems. I chose a different microwave!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend WORKED FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS

Considering average life of a microwave is 7-8 years, less than 2 is unacceptable. Gave it 2 stars ONLY because it worked well - for the less than 2 years.
