GE is one of the few that currently has the exhaust fan separate from the interior fan. That in itself was the main selling point. Works like a charm. The exhaust fan by itself is still loud, but we seldom need to use it.

This model is much noisier than the previous one. In fact the sides rattle at startup. I called G.E. to complain I was so irritated with the noise. The door clunks when opening and shutting. Not happy...

The controls on this one are not as easily identified as the last one. It takes a while to get used to where the buttons are.

The digram for installation was upside down which was a little tricky for installation. Also the vent is a little loud but I love the look, and all the options of this microwave.

The vent fan could be stronger. Beware of installation. The crew scratched up my oven and left a bit of a mess.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microwave is nice.... but Q&A from GE said Microwave was set up for internal (inside your home) venting....and if you wanted to vent externally, you needed to modify the fan assembly.... that was not true, the Microwave was set up to vent externally...and it took me an hour to modify the fan assembly to vent inside the kitchen..(vent internally) too bad the answers in the Q&A were incorrect...

I was happy to see that it had a feature to keep the turntable from turning. That was always a problem for me with my old microwave if I had a larger rectangular dish that was too large to rotate.

The style is nice and operation is simple. We were replacing a 20 year old unit and I was worried about finding same size to fit the area. No problem with new unit. Bust Buy installed it without any problems.

The operation is the same but the buttons are inn a different configuration so that has a learning curve to operate. Would be nice if the buttons could be backlit for us early risers.

Worse microwave

The vent stays running no matter if you’re defrosting or heating up food. The temp could be at high settings and yet what normally would take 1 minute on my last one takes an additional 30 seconds to minute extra. Not very happy with this item and could have purchased a 50 dollar one that would have done a better job at what it was intended to do.
