The economic elements include distribution, warehousing, and marketing costs, which account for a portion of the selling price of the part. Other factors like usability (cosmetic vs. functional) and availability also contribute to pricing. Unfortunately, in some cases, purchasing replacement parts can be less cost effective than replacing the appliance, especially with older appliance or small appliances like microwaves.
