The GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave was very easy to install, looks good (it matches our other stainless steel appliances), and works great. It has all the features one would expect on a microwave oven. Although using this microwave oven is straight forward, I highly recommend reading the instructions (who ever does) to discover some hidden features. For the price, the GE 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave is a bargain.

So far so good! Easy to use, sleek, a little heavy to install but it was the perfect fit for our space and a really good price. It's got options without being overwhelming.

I got this because our other microwave broke & this one was relatively cheap compared to some of the more expensive brand models. I feel like this microwave probably works better than the one we used to have. It's easy to use and it looks nice. The installation was pretty easy.

The microwave is great! We had to replace our other over the range GE microwave. It’s as expected and an improvement to the previous model of 6 years ago. The bottom is a little different. The main difference we found was it is quieter and easier to install. Highly recommend this over the range option for the features and the price point.

I had this microwave installed last week. It looks great above my stove. I'm happy with this Whirlpool low-profile microwave so far. I'm still getting used to the newer cooking guide and control panel but I do like it very much!

Heats great, runs quiet, looks nice, fits perfect in the hood opening over the stove and is easy to use. The best thing you can say about a microwave is that it works without calling attention to itself for whatever reason. It doesn't sing, dance or play a fiddle but I didn't want it to do that anyway. It does do what I want it to do and does it well.

Great price! Price shopped and Bestbuy had the best price. Bought online and they had it ready super fast. I couldn’t have ask for a better experience. As far as the product, it’s great although the control board went out within the first 3 months. Other than, it works great and was easy to install.

Good microwave. Looks nice up in our kitchen. Fairly easy to install once we had the right tools together. Did have to get new washers for the bolts at the top because the holes in the bottom of our kitchen cabinets were too large for the screws. A lot quieter than our old microwave and a great price!

Pros. Ease of use, quiet operation, and sleek appearance at an affordable price point. I love the convenient express cook buttons and the ample interior space. Cons. I have complaint with the dim, stovetop light could be better (non-LED) and plastic parts doesn't feel as a good material, particularly the door handle.

My family and I really like this new microwave. Bought it as a replacement and wanted stainless finish. Sure glad that we found this G.E. as it fit perfect, is quiet to operate, was easy to install, and has just been a great replacement for the old one that we had.

My parents have purchased this same microwave twice now works good but the quality of parts sucks!! being a electrician i ordered new limit switches for the door on the 1st unit, couple years later display board quit working, 2nd unit put up and 1 week later the crazy thing was turning on off buy its self the 3rd this one still going keep your fingers crossed.

Our new microwave works better than the old one. The power level is much better than before. the cooking time has been reduced by 10 %. The fan is much more quiet.

We picked this one on other reviews that described this oven as "quiet." We weren't disappointed. While it is far from silent, compared to the one it replaced (which sounded like a jet engine) we are very pleased. It's also bigger inside. Installed fine though instructions were typically sparse. Happy so far with its performance. Hopefully it lives longer than it's predecessor which died after only a couple years. Controls are intuitive. Only miss having a butter melt/soften button. One thing that surprised me--the entire front is the door, not just the lower section with the handle and glass, so it feels kind of bulky when you open it. But that's not really a problem. Who knows. It might be part of why it is quieter.

This is a nice sized microwave and the price was perfect for what we were looking for. It fits nicely above our stove and looks great with the separate trim kit that we purchased. It's easy to use and functions great.

The overall quality this microwave is good, but some of the cosmetics fall short. The digital numbers are too close together and too blocky. The time is hard to read from farther then 3 ft. The arrangement of the buttons is not intuitive. The over head light button is located in the middle level of the keyboard. Considering how dark the keypad is it would have been nice to have something lit. It is very hard to see buttons in the dark (see light button). I do like the construction and the quick press of a number to start cooking (press 2 and it quick starts at 2 min).

First, I'm easy to please, and don't use the microwave for anything more complicated than heating up frozen food or boiling water. I've not tested out any of the more advanced features, and can't comment on them. I read a bunch of online reviews in making a product selection, and overall most people seemed pleased with this unit. The complaints seemed to be about minor stuff, like the button labels being hard to see in low light or the dark, which is true, but it doesn't bother me (I turn on the overhead light so I can see the buttons). I installed the unit myself, am not a pro, just a regular old DIYer. Installation was straightforward, the instructions were clear, and all the parts I needed were present. I ended up using some different lag bolts because the ones included with the install kit are not very beefy: they take a philips head, or you can use a 3/8 or 1/2 ratchet (can't remember which), and the philips receptacle on the screw stripped out quickly when applying a reasonable amount of torque. I tossed them and used the stainless lag bolts with a square head inset from the last install. The instructions seemed a little bit unclear to me about how the fan blower motor housing needs to be manipulated. The pictures are good, but I believe some of the words are in error. But if you understand what the basic premise is of what you're doing, it will work out fine. The instructions provide a drilling template for the overhead screws, and everything matched up well. The mounting plate seemed a little bit flimsy, but seems to work fine. It fit perfectly into the spot where the previous microwave went, and the microwave unit itself also fit perfectly. As far as operation goes, I found the unit to be quieter than its predecessor, and can't say if this unit is more or less quiet than other current units. It does what it is supposed to do, heat stuff up. I like the way the rotating plate sits on the spindle. It is simple and works well. I also like the generous amount of light the unit provides from the bottom of the unit to the top of the stove. The door feels solid, and the open/close internal latching mechanism also has a solid feel to it. It has been in operation now for about a month, with no hiccups or trouble. If things change, I'll update this review accordingly.

We needed to replace our old microwave and this fit the space perfectly! I really appreciate how quiet this one runs. Our previous one was only 7 years old, but it was louder. I also like that the surface light really does light up my stovetop. When I bought my previous one I was told those lights were only useful as a night light. The only thing I don't like is that the display is a white light. My refrigerator is blue and my range is green! The white, and the font look cheap in my opinion.
