    Bought this to replace a whirlpool microwave. This unit requires that the FAN run at all times-even when heating a cup of water. Or just warming a bagel. the FAN is so loud. I found and downloaded the manual and there is NO WAY to turn it off the fan. I later saw it printed on the inside framework of the microwave. I am not sure if this is a new thing in microwave design-but it makes me use it less. The 'bang' sound of the door latching when as well as the fan running can be heard on the other side of the house, in a different room. Sooo disappointed. If I had the $$ I would replace it. It does seem to take a bit longer to heat up a cup of water-but it does do what is intended...just is annoying how loud it is.

      The vent fan will make a sound similar to a vent hood. This exterior fan noise on the over-the-range microwave is a normal sound when the vent fan is in use.     So far so good. The problem with all of these over the range microwaves is that it is just a matter of time before the moisture takes it's toll and it dies. If we get 2-3 years we are happy.

    Our old GE Profile died after 12 years and several recent fuse replacements (which were simple to replace by the way). The new model was almost an identical replacement. Easy to use button layout, can vent externally or internally (with charcoal filters included). 30-second quick cook. Would recommend to anyone looking for stainless steel microwave.
