It does seem like some of the button choices are not where one would expect and I do miss the designation inside the door of that shows quick Reheat numbers applt to what.

This unit requires that the FAN run at all times-even when heating a cup of water. Or just warming a bagel. the FAN is so loud. I found and downloaded the manual and there is NO WAY to turn it off the fan. I later saw it printed on the inside framework of the microwave. I am not sure if this is a new thing in microwave design-but it makes me use it less. The 'bang' sound of the door latching when as well as the fan running can be heard on the other side of the house, in a different room. Sooo disappointed. If I had the $$ I would replace it. It does seem to take a bit longer to heat up a cup of water-but it does do what is intended...just is annoying how loud it is.

Posted .The vent fan will make a sound similar to a vent hood. This exterior fan noise on the over-the-range microwave is a normal sound when the vent fan is in use. It's one of the microwaves ever

All the new Whirlpool are over 17". Found this at Best Buy for a great price. Has all the microwave features I need and a good stregth 300cfm fan. Also the stove surface lights are towards the front which lights the surface more evenly. I don't have one negative comment.

So comparing the two, this one the handle is much thinner. We don't require anything fancy, so it meets our needs just fine.
