This new oven does heat/cook food as one might expect, however; there are a couple of design shortcomings that make this hard to recommend. 1. The screen mesh on the glass door is so dense that it is difficult to see what is inside. 2. The keypad requires much more force than previous GE microwave ovens that we have used in the past. The is annoying. 3. Our particular unit does not allow the installation of the charcoal filter. Based on the installation instructions some units can be fitted with the charcoal filter and some cannot. For the above reasons; we do not recommend this microwave oven.

Second time charmer

By buying the same model it made it super easy to replace because I was able to reuse the same existing support brackets and wiring. Overall it’s a fine microwave just wish the quality was higher so that it would last longer before having to replace.
