  • STOPPED HEATING AFTER ONE YEAR

    Sadly, this microwaved last only one year and one day to the date of purchase for us and then completely stopped heating. The microwave turned on, but it did not heat. It would have been $114 for the GE appliance repairman to come out for an estimate (and appt times were over a week out) and then plus the added cost of the parts and labor to fix it. It wasn't worth it. We took a total LOSS purchasing this microwave. We ended up buying a brand new one (not GE) because it would have been cheaper and faster.

    It began making noises with only occasional use over a two-week period. We have an appointment with Best Buy for a tech to come out and review in March. We have not even owned this microwave for 30 days and already it has been out of service for more than one week and will remain out of order until the appointment and perhaps longer if it requires parts or replacement. So, GE products probably not the best choice at this time. If you are looking to make a purchase stay away from GE and look to another company. Obviously, the quality control on their products has failed. I should mention in the past I have purchased GE Profile kitchen stove, microwave, and dishwashers. They usually perform well for at least 6 years. Not this time around, so I am looking to other manufacturers for my kitchen remodel. No more GE products for me.
