    Terrible Microwave - Garbage

    Stopped working after about a year and half with only moderate use. Door also difficult to open. Replacing unit since warranty expired.

    Not recommended. Purchased this based on the model in the store, and had it installed. Does not look the same, GE changed the model but use the same sku number. So beware of a purchase based on demo's in the store. The one that came, is cheaper looking and sound like a tin can. I cant give it more than two stars, since I was duped. Do better GE.

    FAULTY HANDLE

    The microwave works fine...in less than a year, the handle completely breaks off. Never ever have I had a handle break off of a microwave. Totally unrepairable...and mounting screws sticking out making it dangerous.

    I purchased my GE Microwave in January 2017. I had to purchase this particular one because my previous Microwave was a GE and this was the one that will fit in between the cabinets. After about 2 months I noticed in the window what looked like a separation about the size of a dime. I called GE as a concern and I was told as long as it doesn't affect the performance there was nothing they will do. Now here in June this problem has grown to the size of a half dollar. I'm concerned that this could be some kind of protective film or something is slipping in between the glasses. I would have taken this thing down myself and returned it to BestBuy myself months ago but I had to pay $125 to have it installed by my contractor. Now I'm stuck with this ugly thing that anyone who comes over asks me what on earth is that? I tell them that it's the mark of GE customer service who don't care about their product. Very very disappointed!

    Blew up after 2 years. 2nd failed GE micro

    Purchased to replace 6 year old original that came with our house, but failed. Just over 2 years later, this one sparked and quit. I really hate my GE appliances.

    Purchased it. Waited for myonstaller. After all the work to install something wrong with door . Purchase exported now I cant return the piece lfjunk

    Awful!! Service in the appliance section was very good. However the microwave must have been in some kind of flood, and sold anyway. The box itself was dry, but inside the plastic wrapping was soaking wet ,and the bottom of the microwave was completely corroded. When we returned it, the person sitting minding the front door laughed, and I was not amused!!!!! I returned the microwave and promptly went to Lowes! This is the 2nd time I have had trouble with an appliance I purchased from you, and I will never do so again.

    Very solid microwave. Only minor complaint is the location of the surface light button is less intuitive than I’d like. Harder to find in the dark than it could be.

    Only 3 months of use and it breaks down, didn't get extended warranty from best buy so i will have to try GE limited warranty, if you buy this get the extended warranty

      Hello funluvncrmnl - this is Nancy at GE. We are sorry to hear that your microwave is louder and harder to clean than your previous microwave. Normally, just wiping the microwave with a soapy wash cloth, and then rinsing and drying well is all that is necessary. The microwave may have a difference in the door noise due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension.
