Unfortunately they are NOT getting better. This is passable, the only real factor was availability. Q: “How’s the new microwave?” A: “Well, it was in stock.” It works, it’s louder than the old one, it’s decent. Next time I have to buy one, hopefully there are more to choose from.

It looked GREAT and worked pretty well for the price. However, a few days ago, the unit completely lost power. It won’t turn on at all. Here I am now, a year and a half later, making a purchase for another GE microwave. It’s very frustrating.

We tried to book an appointment to have it installed but the store clerk could not seem to book it. He told me to call the phone number. I tried several times to call and was told there was over an hour wait each time. I left my number for a call back. When I got a call back still no one was able to schedule installation. I was told no one in the area does installation. Well then why in the world would I get charged for something that was not even available! Crazy. I had to find someone on my own to do it.
