    Junk made by Haier not GE

    When cooking food and you open the door before the cooking cycle is complete, the breaker in the electrical panel trips. Similar to other reviews given. My unit is 2 years old. Don’t blame GE however. They dont make the units nor have an appliance division. They merely have their logo on it as brand recognition. Haier owns GE appliances.

    We've only had the microwave 2.5 years until it started flipping the breaker. Tested the microwave on a different circuit and flipped the breaker on that one as well. Time to buy a new one.

    Dead after 5 years.

    Died 5 years after purchase. Lights flickered and it's completely dead. The handle broke after 3 years due to very brittle plastic.

    Don't waste your money on this

    Bought this microwave las year around March and it lasted till yesterday. It surpassed the warranty and now I have no microwave. It started to short circuit and trip my breaker at home, after a couple times of trying to fix it, it sparked my circuit and died. No wonder the manufacture only gives a 1 yr warranty, it's meant to last that long. GE sucks.

    Difficult for handicapped customer

    I wrote a review on 5/15/17 which didn't show up. Warning to handicap customers with shipping and geek install. Live order takers will tell you ship/install/haul away in one visit. ( important of you can't lift 50 lbs into your house). Not true. Also, they will not adjust the shipping to accommodate. Once you order and then find out, there is no way to cancel order. you have to HOPE no one takes your microwave from front door before the geeks come next day.

      Hello Maka - thank you for reviewing your new over-the-range microwave. We apologize for the difficulty you had with regard to the installation. This microwave is not considered to be ADA Compliant. To be considered ADA compliant, the microwave to be must meet the following requirements:
      ~ Maximum high forward reach for controls and operating mechanisms is 48"; maximum low forward reach is 15".
      ~ Controls and operating mechanisms must be operable with one hand and shall not require tight grasping, pinching or twisting of the wrist. The force required to activate controls shall be no more than 5 lbs.

    Breaks Yearly - Choose Another

    Purchased in 2017 with Geek Squad coverage, 1 year later (2018) it died. They spent over $400 in parts to fix it, died again in 2019 they spent another $541 to try to fix it but even after all that it was so bad they decided it wasn't worth it anymore and offered me a a replacement. Not sure how this will work out, lost my 5 year Geek Squad coverage and not sure if I will need to pay anything for the new one.

    I bought this model in August 2018 and today it stopped working. Tripping the breaker when I try to use it. I already had to DIY fix the door handle when the screw came loose. Be careful buying this microwave.

    Piece of junk. Bought it in Jan 2020 and it stopped heating in May 2023. GE wanted to charge me almost the cost of a new one to repair. I've got a small table top microwave with an old mechanical timer that's lasted 5 times longer.

    Received this as a Christmas gift last year. It has been tripping the breaker for a few days. Changed the breaker and still tripping it. It happened every time we opened the door. Tonight it gave a little electrical light show with smoke and that finished it off. We have used it less than a year.

    Stopped working in 18 months

    I bought this microwave along with slide in stove 18 months ago & now it doesn't have any power at all. Mainpanel cricuit breaker tripped and after I turned it on there is no power to microwave . Ge customer service said 99$ for technican to come & check, plus parts and labor. What a ripoff.. No more buying of GE products. This the worst product I have ever bought.

    Ordered 2/18/2023 and today, 10/28/2024, it no longer works. Unfortunately, I didn't get the warranty. I would not purchase this again.

    Like so many others, ours, manufactured Jan 2016, started in July 2019 to trip the circuit breaker every single time it powers up to cook. Clock and timer work, just won’t cook without blowing the circuit. Other appliances plugged into that breaker work fine. Costs more to repair than its price. AVOID THIS MICROWAVE.

    We got this microwave the first week in June of 2018. It stopped working the first week in September of 2019. GE would do nothing for us because the warranty is only for one year. A microwave should last for more than 15 months. We will never buy another GE.

    bad handle

    I am giving this a bad review because I have owned it for about 18 month and the handle has deteriorated due to a poor design. The "stainless" looking handle is covered in a plastic wrap, basically a silver sticker. The color has worn off and the sticker has wrinkled. It looks terrible and they do NOT sell a replacement handle for this model.

We do in fact offer a replacement handle for this model, which can be ordered here: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WB15X10278 . Any damage to a microwave door will require service. Federal law requires that any adjustment or repair of a microwave door also be followed up by a leak test to make sure of proper fit, operation, and alignment. This must be done by a qualified technician.

    Handle broke off
