Perfect fit replacement for an older GE model

This model was lighter and a perfect fit replacement for the older model. The older bracket that was already mounted on the wall even worked with the newer model. We didn't have to mount any new hardware or drill any new holes. This was a perfect fit replacement for the earlier model and installation couldn't have been easier.

I assumed that it was essentially the same as the old one. Wrong. The reheat cycle is cheapened up. Essentially now just a timer. Old unit reheat sensed humidity and corresponded accordingly, which worked impressively.

We’ve only had it for a month but so far it’s been working great! Hopefully it works for 5-10 years before needing another as we’ve had bad luck with microwaves over the last decade.

Unfortunately we have a wall on the left and the door would not open enough, it had too much swing. We needed a zero hinge door. We returned it and bought one that had a zero hinge door, it is a different brand.

All it does is microwave food and it does a great job of it. In my case it replaced a name brand microwave that did not reach full cooking temperature. If you wonder why I did not attempt to repair our former microwave, which happened to be under warranty, it was because I would have had to take the microwave off the wall for repair and then be responsible for putting it back on the wall. If you decide to buy the warranty, make sure you are not responsible for removing it from the wall.

A couple of "first world problems" were not being able to see the buttons too well if not in well lit area. We did have to take the first microwave back as a bolt at the top of the microwave was missing and it was a must have bolt to secure to the wall. Best Buy was so easy to exchange so that was a cince...considering it wasn't there fault but more of the manufacturer. We do love the one touch time feature on the microwave. Just push like 2 and start and it heats for 2 minutes. Very happy at this point.
