Replacing one that was less than 2 yrs. old. So far it has functioned as expected.

This microwave was the second GE overhead microwave I bought and both lasted only for a little over a year! Both broke just passed the one-year warranty period.

after over 4 years of use- this microwave shelf hook inside caught on fire. Thank God I was standing there waiting for it to heat up or else it wouldve been horrible.

Picked up in store after being ordered . Took it home , my husband installed it then we realized that the door was broke because it would not close properly. The internal light stayed on. Sent back.

Installed the microwave and everything worked except that it wouldnt heat anything. I promptly returned and ordered a different model. Ordered the ge pvm9195...much better microwave.

We just installed this microwave last weekend. It looks great, works fine, BUT the light, that is supposed to illuminated the range below, is all the way in the back of the microwave, so it does a terrible job! And we can just barely open the door to change light bulbs as it is right over the control panel of the stove. We had a GE microwave before and that light was in a perfect place to illuminate the cook top so we were quite surprised by this issue.

We ended up needing to replace an over-the range microwave when our old one (from 1990!) burned up. I lucked into an open box of this microwave and got an amazing deal. It appeared it was never installed. Either way it works very well. It heats food evenly and quickly. I haven't tried the defrost setting yet. There's a ton of space inside (especially with the shelf removed), the turntable works, and the popcorn setting works well on a standard size bag. The only complaints I have are that the buttons don't "feel" right--it can take a bit of force for the press to register. The door feels a bit flimsy as well--I'm halfway afraid I'll pull it right off everytime I go to open it. The beeper could be a bit louder as well (it's probably fine, but my old one was very loud and I find this one a little hard to hear). Do be sure and make sure you have the recommended space above your oven, as this is a large microwave. It's a cinch to install--I'm a do-it-yourselfer but I can't imagine anyone having an issue with it. Overall I very much recommend this, particularly at the recent sale prices.

Stainless steel (SS) is normally considered the most luxurious finishes for kitchen appliances. But it shows fingerprints and is a challenge to keep clean sometime. The finish on this range of GE appliances is as elegant as Stainless steel and as the handle has a stainless finish, it will blend with other SS appliances. Plus it has a great capacity, lots of features and yet is value priced. A great combination.

Bought from Bestbuy Sept 2015. We loved the features. However, within 3 weeks the turntable stopped working as well as the control panel. Called GE service. They sent out a repair man. He initially got the unit working again. Within in a week , it failed again. Ordered a new control board. The repair man returned and installed the new board. The unit worked again for 4 days, and now the vent fan appears stuck on. Will have to uninstall and return to Bestbuy.
