Replaced a similar older GE model. This one works so much better. Bigger size, better fan for exhaust above the store, quieter, easy to install.

Our original GE microwave was stsrting to get loud and being 15+ years old it was definitely time.for an upgrade. My wife and I decided to get the same style that we already had and figured it would be an easy swap. We were about 99% correct besides the new microwave has the cord in the center of the microwave instead of towards the rear. This means we needed to drill a new hole in the underside of the center of the cabinet. Not a huge deal but in my opinion they should have kept the plug in the location it was in towards the rear as you lose some cupboard space. Other than that the microwave is a pretty solid design and very simple to operate. Very bright light and the fan works great without being too loud.

Rating: 4.5 / 5 Stars We recently installed this GE 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range microwave, and overall, we are extremely pleased with its performance, features, and build quality. It's been a significant upgrade for our kitchen. The performance is where this microwave truly shines. It heats food remarkably quickly and, more importantly, very evenly. We haven't experienced the frustrating hot and cold spots that plagued our old unit. The sensor cooking feature is surprisingly effective – particularly for reheating plates of food or cooking vegetables. It intelligently adjusts the cooking time, resulting in perfectly heated items without drying them out or leaving them partially cold. The defrost functions (both time and weight-based) also perform reliably, thawing food thoroughly without cooking the edges. We're also impressed with the cook settings. There's a great range of useful preset options for common items like popcorn (which pops nearly a full bag perfectly!), potatoes, and beverages. The sensor-based settings take the guesswork out of many tasks. The control panel is intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple to access all the different functions without constantly referring to a manual. The "+30 seconds" button is always a convenient touch for quick heating bursts. In terms of quality, the microwave feels well-built. The door has a solid, sturdy feel when opening and closing, and the stainless steel finish gives it a premium look that matches well with our other appliances. The handle is robust, and the overall impression is that of a durable, quality appliance, especially considering its price point. The included exhaust fan is effective at venting cooking fumes, and the cooktop light provides good illumination. The only minor reason I'm giving it 4.5 stars instead of a perfect 5 is the volume of the alert beeps – they are quite loud and, as far as I can tell, not adjustable. It's a small annoyance, but worth mentioning. Also, typical of stainless steel, the finish does show fingerprints, requiring regular wiping to keep it looking its best. Overall, this GE microwave is a fantastic appliance that delivers excellent performance, useful and effective cook settings, and solid build quality. If you're in the market for a reliable and efficient over-the-range microwave, I would highly recommend this model. It offers great value and performs its job exceptionally well.

This was an almost one for one replacement to the previous microwave that died. The price was great and it fit perfectly. My only issue is the door is cheaply made and it is very loud. However, for the price you can't beat it. As far as how it works, it works as advertised. No issues there.

We’ve had this GE microwave installed for a few weeks now, and it has been a fantastic addition to our kitchen. The 1.7 cu. ft. capacity is the absolute sweet spot for us—plenty of room for large family dinner plates and big casserole dishes without feeling like it’s taking over the entire space above the stove. The standout feature is definitely the Sensor Cooking. It completely takes the guesswork out of reheating leftovers. No more stopping it every 30 seconds to check if the middle is still frozen, and it hasn't turned my food rubbery once. The exhaust fan is also surprisingly powerful at clearing out steam and cooking odors, and the stainless finish is really easy to wipe down and keep free of fingerprints. Installation was straightforward, the controls are intuitive, and it just works perfectly day in and day out. Definitely worth every penny if you’re looking for a solid, reliable upgrade!

This microwave was easy to install and has plenty of great features! The selection buttons are easy to read and navigate. The exterior has a sleek finish and a large sturdy handle for opening and closing. We purchased this unit to replace an earlier GE model that gave us many years of great service, and we hope that this unit will perform the same. It was nice that it used the same mounting template design, which allowed for a simple installation. The blower fans came in the vent-upward position, but for our application, they were easy to move to the vent-forward position using the instructions provided.

Verry quiet and does a great job. Didnt rwalize how bad my old microwave was. I like the mute function because the beeping of microwaves srives me crazy. Glad I purchased this unit.

Purchased this microwave to replace our 16 year old one. It is the same brand (GE) and was on sale. Works great, love the "melt" function (use to melt butter), and looks nicer than the all black one it replaced. It is noticeably louder than our original GE over-the-range microwave but we are getting used to it.

Had to return the first one due to damage by whatever delivery service delivered it to Best Buy. Hate having to take it back, but guess it was my turn for this type of incident. The crew was great and ordered a replacement which arrived 5 days later and was in great shape. I was replacing an older GE model and luckily the older template bolt holes (wall and top) matched up so installation was a breeze. GE had confirmed the color was white (not green) for the LED and yes it was. All new units shipped after 11/2017 apparently have the new LED which matched my new stove. I know it seems minor but it’s those little things. Same with the dark gray color behind the glass. Funny how it is gray (in flash) but in my kitchen it looks black and matches the stove, same with the dark gray on the side. Yes, the letters are a little tough to see but it’s the glare from the plastic and not the actual letter coloring. My kitchen is pretty bright so shouldn’t be an issue. The fan is about as loud as my last one but the actual microwave seems much quieter. The microwave is working great and as you probably know Best Buy had the best price.

Previously had a GE microwave and it had stopped working. Bought this from Best Buy and they matched other vendors prices (so don't be afraid to ask). I installed this myself and it was truly easy to install. Luckily for me, this was the same size and no new holes needed to be drilled. Even if you do need to drill new holes, they provide a nice template that is easy to follow. Microwave has many great features and is very intuitive.

We bought this on sale for $251 and for the price it can’t be beat. We replaced a 10 year old over the range microwave with this unit. Installation was easy since it for our old minting bracket and holes. It is much quieter than our previous whirlpool and seems to heat food evenly.

Love this microwave! Ample space inside and at 1000 watts it works even better than the 1100 watt microwave I replaced. Looks sleek, easy to operate - I love everything about this oven.

This is a pretty good MV over. Easy to use, fairly quiet, and the SS looks great. I chose to put it in myself, saved $25. I found some cosmetic damage on the back of the oven. It was easily fixed and being in the back, you couldn't see it anyway. Fairly easy to install. My wife and I put it up with hardly any trouble. One problem was the length of time for delivery - almost a month.

Super product! We wanted more counter space, so we replaced our microwave with this over-the-range microwave. We installed it ourselves, as the directions were easy to follow and thorough. We love the many functions and settings available. It is sleek and attractive in our kitchen, and pretty quiet. Highly recommended.GE

Great performance. Control pad somewhat difficult. Defrost asks for pounds. And if you want lower power level tough to do. Otherwise looks great, cleans up great. Just push button controls not as user friendly. Still a great value.

Replacement of a similar microwave installed in 2005. Keyboard failed eventually and cost for repair part rivaled cost of new unit. Microwave fit perfectly, installation instructions were good, and only disappointment was that the mounting bracket from the old unit had changed plus holes in top cabinet were different. Just made for starting from scratch but still manageable. Unit much quieter than old unit plus had the melt function that will come in handy. Overall, we are happy after a week of using and the price was great after sale price and using Best Buy reward points!

This is my second purchase of this item, even though I was not happy with the previous one cause it stopped working within a year and a half and I had thought I had bought #Warranty but not I re-purchased it in general I like the product but the previous one was probably bad one
