I don't if that is common with this model, but the one I had before didn't make that. The technician who made the installation reported the problem and I haven't received an answer. I thought this store was serious about complains, but doesn't.

We do expect some noises to be created by the microwave, including a dull thumping or hum while it’s operating, a slight humming when it’s not operating, possible clicking right after starting the cycle, etc. More information on what is normal for the microwave is available in the manual, which can be viewed on our GE website by looking up the model number. If you believe the noise you’re hearing is out of the ordinary, our Service Department is available at 1-800-432-2737; a technician would be able to diagnose and repair an issue with the microwave. Reordered to replace and the product was again damaged. The issue is more so with GE than with BestBuy because the boxes that the installers came with were in perfect condition. Meaning that someone from GE keeps putting defective products in boxes.

My first was out of warranty and it was cheaper to purchase the same model microwave than to repair the poor thing. One week in service the new one just went black. Thankfully GE is sending a repair technician to fix it. My previous microwaves lasted until we remodeled the kitchen. Hopefully this isn’t the new norm.
