The door is plastic all around including the front see-through cover which my previous one was glass. Kind of flimsy but does the job.

Caution! Not same install as older GE microwave!

Problem with install as I bought this one to replace a 10 year old GE microwave. Reviewers told me it used the same install system as the older version. Not true. I had to remove the old installation bracket and reinstall a new one. Added about 1.5 hours to the project. I was not a happy camper about the change as I bought this microwave specifically so I would not have to install a new plate.
