    The light hangs down to low under the unit, and on the inside it looks like a piece of cardboard on the right side which covers the vent. The door is very flimsy when you open and close it sounds very loud, not nice and quite like my old GE. I do not like the dark color on the inside and the light is very small so it is dark inside.

      Hello 1542 - thank you for providing a review of your over-the-range microwave. We're sorry to hear that it hangs too low. It should be installed so the top of the microwave is at least 66" from the floor. The cardboard is there by design. The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace. The difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension.     Installation was fairly easy (for two people). The things we like most are the large areas of stainless steel for appearance, the turntable, the reheat choices, and the countdown, which gives you precise timing.

    The microwave works great and looks good. Close match to the older GE appliances, but not perfect. The stainless shows fingerprints.

    Nice unit. The melt feature is great for butter, cheese, chocolate. Not quite as impressive as the one we bought 20+ years ago but for a replacement and the price it is a great unit.

    Heats up the food great with less time add. Doesn't over heat and Useless energy. I never had a problem yet i should say, but i don't see that happen anytime soon.

    This GE microwave replaced another GE microwave that lasted 5 1/2 years. This one is made more cheaply, especially the handle going from stainless to plastic. The vent sound level is deafening. You will not be able to have a conversation with someone next to you. Nothing says cheap more than a jet engine in your kitchen. Do not use Best Buy contractor installation services. This particular Best Buy is using a poorly rated contractor that damaged our cabinets.

    Order it online, works well. Easy to install. Really powerful, so I have to adjust my standard time, the door opens easily.
