This is one of the few fridges that would fit in my small kitchen. I didn't particularly like the look of the top shelf, but it's really practical. The fridge is quiet except for a few Star Trek alien noises (clicking, popping, etc.). I'm a fan so I don't mind it speaking to me.

The moment it kicks on it starts this incessant popping sound that will wake you from sleep. Has nothing to do with performance as the unit does its job perfectly. Regardless, i’m trading it in on one with quiet reviews. Trust me on this one.

When the compressor is running its downright distracting. Very unhappy with the noise level; I'd be interested to know what the decibel rating is for this.

Posted .Hello MarkM - thank you for providing your feedback regarding your new refrigerator. This is a nice size model. We're sorry to hear that the hum from the compressor it is distracting to you. If you do not have much in the refrigerator or freezer, we recommend adding gallon jugs of water to help take up the empty space. Don't fill the freezer water jugs as full as the refrigerator. Great Basic Refrigerator

Its quiet and keep food at right temperature. I especially like the offset top rack where you can keep tall bottles. Highly recommended.

Seems to turn on and off by itself. So sad as my former apartment complex uses these in their units. So much for GE quality control. So glad I kept my old frig in the basement. Best Buy is picking up as a return. Purchased another brand.

The first I ordered was defective and the second had missing parts. These things happen but I had a terrible time getting good customer service. Next time I will choose a different store.

Stopped working in 2.5 years

Reading from other reviewers who's had to deal with issues, looks like it'd be a waste of time contacting them.
