The lid is heavier to open than our previous one. Because there was no floor model we had to purchase sight unseen. Our previous model had a temp guage that was more sophisticated than this basic one. I do like the baskets inside the freezer as they move from one side to the other very easily.

Great for the first 18mo

Its very big which allowed for a whole cow and mutiple deer. BUT less than 18mo in, one the the high temp alarm is going off - the compressor wouldnt start. Had to pay Geek Squad to come out (even though i bought with the Best Buy membership). They determined the freezer was junk. Fortunately the extended warranty under the BB membership got me a replacement. Otherwise i wouldve been out the freezer.

The internal LED light is very helpful, as well as the external power indicator. Had some initial issues with the alarm activating with any power fluctuation, but it stabilized after an extended power reset (pulled the plug and waited 20 minutes)

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The grill over the compressor was badly bent and damaged when the delivery guys took the freezer out of its box. I was concerned that the damage to the grill would also mean damage to the compressor. Since the freezer was a gift and we had been waiting for a couple of months for it to arrive, I didn't tell the delivery guys to put it back on the truck and take it away, as I normally would have. They straightened the grill as best they could. The freezer is very nice but not crazy about the bent grill.
