Bad Odor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For some strange reason this fridge absorbs odors. No matter how much you clean it. Food odors expand and stay>

definitely a best buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this fridge back in Fall of 2016. I have had zero issues. I choose the glass shelves over wire shelves, because they look nice. It is a perfect size for my family of 4- three adults, one child. GE is one of the best brands for refrigerators, so we got a great product at a great price too, it was on sale for less than $500. The freezer is great too. We opted out of the ice maker, so we can have more room. It is nice overall!

Good, but not great (with some issues)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am currently using this as a spare refrigerator in the garage. Pros: 1. Cools very well in the freezer and fresh section. I don't have turned up all the way maybe 3/4 of the way and it cools down to about 31-33 degrees in the fresh section (I like my drinks cold). The products in the back get colder than the products towards the front of the fresh food section (keep this in mind). The freezer feeds the cold air into the fresh section of the fridge. Please note there is only one control for both the Freezer and Fresh food sections. So, you may need to play around on what is the best temp for your needs. 2. Plenty of space for extra drinks or holiday leftovers. I am using as a spare, so this is plenty of space for me. 3. Noise level is pretty quiet. The compressor turns on more frequently than my main fridge in the kitchen, but it's not a problem because it's in the garage. Overall, the sound is not bad. Cons: 1. There are multiple defects w/ the unit, I received. The freezer section has lumps, fridge section has portions that are not flush. It's great that it's made in the USA, but don't half a** assemble/build products and better QA. 2. The freezer gasket is a problem. It's not strong enough and lets air in. The result condensation/water droplets around the edge of the freezer. I visited several different big box stores all had the same issue. BTW the unit is leveled/slightly tilted back as recommended. 3. The freezer doesn't have a light.

Horrible Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this refrigerator less than 2 weeks. There has been ice and water in the freezer since it was plugged in. When I open it up drops of water and icicles fall on the floor. I have had to wipe water out of it two times a day! Service has already been called on it TWO TIMES. I have had to request vacation time to meet someone here on those two separate occasions, missing valuable time on the clock at work. Same repairman has been here both times to repair the unit; he has been professional and helpful to do the best he could to remedy the problems but what can you do when an appliance is poorly made? What has happened to quality and pride in America any longer? The first time he was here he put a washer/shim to get the freezer door to close properly. That did not work. Today he was advised to put caulk around the case/liner flange. My brand new refrigerator has caulk smears around the edges. The repairman did the best he could to clean it up but it looks awful. I usually research anything before I buy it. Car, electronics, appliances, etc. In this case, I made a terrible mistake and did NOT research this appliance's ratings. Terrible mistake. I don't know what I have to do to get my money back and either upgrade to another appliance. I am very displeased. I do not like being aggressive or rude about anything of this nature, but in this instance I am insisting for the appliance to be returned. I won't pay for something that has already had two service calls put on it in less than two weeks.

Posted .Hello Snicks - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. We are very sorry to hear that your refrigerator is not working properly. This is not the outcome we would expect to hear and we apologize for your inconvenience. Please verify that the refrigerator doors are closing properly on their own when opened about half way. The refrigerator should be slightly higher in the front so as to help the doors always close. When the refrigerator door closes, the freezer door may pop open and not close back completely if the front legs are not raised high enough. I hope this helps! Thanks for providing your feedback!

Good for what it is
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are using this as a extra refrigerator in the basement. The first thing you will want to do when you get it is turn the thermostat to full cold, don't use the recommended setting because that is way too hot. At full cold freezer will stay at 5 degrees and refrigerator will stay around 38-41 degrees depending where you place the thermometer. I would have liked to be able to make it closer to 35 degrees and freezer at 0 but you can't do that at this price point. Seems like it has plenty of space but the most important thing is keeping it as cold as possible without freezing things which makes food last much longer.

Stops Cooling-Food Loss
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Refrigerator was delivered on 11/19/2019. 7 months later, it stopped cooling and I lost hundreds of dollars of food as everything in the freezer defrosted and food in the refrigerator (food prepared for a graduation party!!!) was at room temperature and had to be thrown away. GE Repairs came out and replaced the "relay" and all was good. That is until, January, 2022. The "relay" apparently does not last...it's only been 1 1/2 years...and the same situation occurred. This time, since the manufacture warranty is expired, I will have to pay for the service call, parts and labor. Plus, again, I lost of freezer full of meat because it defrosted to room temperature and needed to be thrown away! Very disappointed and upset!!!!!!
