If it might help with your sound concern, the signal sound can be adjusted – by pressing the Beeper Volume option, you can choose from 0 to 3 (mute to loud). We do expect some noises to be made while the microwave is in operation, such as the sound from the blower and a dull thumping sound; however, if you are concerned the noise you’re hearing is out of the ordinary, our Service Department is available at 1-800-432-2737. Door issue

Door started having issues recently and now it won’t open. Called GE and its not covered by warranty or have replacement parts. Basically throw away model.

I was afraid to keep using it so threw it away and bought a different brand. Not buying any more GE microwaves!!

Works well, just disappointing design

This one, however, is lacking features that have been standard forever! And the physical design is not good. You are unable to change the power level mid-cooking. This was a standard feature on previous models. Very disappointing that this was eliminated. As for the design, the window on the door is small and this makes it difficult to see the food inside. And the clock is not flush with the surface, it is set back which makes the numbers difficult to see when viewing from different angles. My biggest complaint is the inability to change the power level during cooking. When something starts to boil over on the stove, you can turn it down. Well, the same thing should be available (again) on the microwave. If this is not a concern for you, then it is a decent microwave.

It is not designed for a built-in type of application and we do not offer the kit needed to build it in. We recommend providing a minimum of 3" of air clearance on each side and t the top as well as 1" clearance in the back for proper operation. -Vikki@GEAppliances

THIS IS GREAT WORKING MICROWAVE EXCEPT FOR THE CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS ON THE DOOR LATCH AND PUSH BUTTON OPENER. MY ONE YEAR WARRANY IS USELESS SINCE IT'S BEEN 16 MONTHS. I HAVE TRIED ONLINE SOLUTIONS BUT I AM NOT CAPABLE OF GETTING INTO THE MACHINE THAT DEEP. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
