Posted .For refrigerators to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run most of the time. They now have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time making them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is running. This design also ensures consistent temperatures in the fresh food and freezer sections. We do offer descriptions of the normal sounds you can expect to hear on Page 19 of the Owner's Manual. If you click on the Features tab and scroll all the way down, you'll see a link to the manual. When the icemaker is filling with water, the water valve opens and can make a buzzing or humming type of sound that lasts for about 8 seconds every 1- 1 1/2 hours. Very annoying. Take off the plastic before you assemble it!

The blue plastic is used to protect the finish, and we certainly understand your annoyance with it. You can use a razor blade to score the film around the edges so it can be removed, then remove any remaining film with tweezers. Best Buy offered a $60 refund or a new fridge. Now I either take a lowball refund or have to move all items out of the fridge and take a half day out to wait for delivery. Disappointing customer service.

Even on a high setting its warm, my 18yr old basement fridge is much more colder than this one. The orice is great the quality sucks
