Customers are impressed with the overall performance, capacity, and size of the 21.9 Cu. Ft. Garage-Ready Top-Freezer Refrigerator. Many appreciate its temperature control and low noise level, and some find the design simple and appealing. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the absence of a freezer light, issues with the door seal, and the susceptibility of the stainless steel to fingerprints.

Great fridge but could use longer cord

I’ve had the fridge for over a year now. Works great! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I wish it had a longer cord. Garage fridges may not have the most convenient outlet location.

After two insignia fridges failed within six weeks, went to this GE for its garage readiness. First thing I noticed was the the sides were textured and the doors were not. Still not 100% sure if it supposed to be like that or not. But does but affect fit or function.
The handle assemblies are mounted into the foam on the door fronts, so will be curious to see how long until they are pulling away from the door, I will try to pull more from there they mount on top/bottom of the doors.
It appears to run a lot, the temps in garage have been quite on the cold side, so surprised by how much it seems to run.
But doing its job at keeping things cold or frozen!

Refrigerator was placed in garage and maintains cool with no problem. Glad we made the choice to buy a garage quality refrigerator. Plenty of space inside

We purchased this to replace our primary refrigerator. We needed a larger top freezer bottom refrigerator and this was one of the largest available for this model. The size of the freezer and adjustable shelves are nice. The refrigerator is spacious. My only negative to mention is there is no light in the freezer.

I love my new refrigerator! I saw where other people complained about noise but I don't think it's loud at all! And I had great service at the Best Buy store. From the guy who greeted me when we arrived to the salesman who assisted in the purchase of the fridge. The price wasn't bad either.

Need a replacement for our 3 year new side-by-side which cost more to repair than replace, so we purchased this, a little bit smaller, GE unit.
Purchased the add-on ice maker, and had Best Buy install.
Overall, we are very pleased with this item.

Missing the emblems that should cover door handle holes. This may be an issue with the delivery/set up company, as they assembled before arrival, putting the handles on the wrong side. Great fridge, I will never use their installation services again
While we’re glad you’re happy overall with your refrigerator, we know any difficulty with installation or missing emblems must be concerning. If you’d like to share your feedback regarding the delivery and installation experience with Best Buy, their customer service can be reached at 1 (888) 237-8289. If there’s still an issue with the handles, we have information on installing those on page 14 of the manual; that can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product’s page. If the missing emblem you’re referring to is the chrome badge, that is part number WR02X35066. If you’d like to reach out to our Parts department about getting that, they can be reached at 1-877-959-8688. You’re also welcome to reach out to us with a private message over our GE Appliances social media (such as Facebook or Instagram) if you're unsure what parts are missing or have any other issues; we’re always happy to offer assistance. -Sarah@GEAppliances

The refrigerator/freezer is in my garage, but it’s nice enough I could put it in my house !

Bought another similar top freezer from another company and it was very loud. Returned the purchase and bought this GE unit, has been much better. Storage capacity is nice, refrig door is able to fit a lot.

The refrigerator performance is good, however, haven’t experienced the hot summer months performance yet. Plenty of room and the looks are fine out in the garage. The reason I rated it down a couple stars is because the magnetic strips that hold the freezer door closed seem very weak. Several times I have let the refrigerator door closed on its own and it has popped the freezer door open. Three times I have come back to the garage to notice the freezer door open and the contents starting to defrost. I was thinking of returning the unit, but for now trying to be more vigilant about closing the refrigerator door softer.
We're glad you reached out as it is not unusual on a two-door refrigerator like yours for one door to pop open when the other door is being closed. The refrigerator and freezer sections are connected by air channels to allow air to pass between them. Slamming or vigorously pushing a door shut forces air from one cavity into the other, often pushing the second door open. The following suggestions may help prevent this from happening. Level the refrigerator so the front is slightly higher than the back. Check to be sure the door gasket is sealing properly. Consider wiping down the door gasket with a baking soda and water solution especially on the hinge side and then rub a small amount of petroleum jelly or paraffin wax along the gasket. Keeping the gaskets clean and lubricated prevents them from dragging and restricting door closure. Finally, consider placing heavier items in the freezer door compartments to provide some ballast (weight). -Vikki@GEAppliances

Very nice fridge for use in garage. Keep frozen foods at proper temp. Only reason not 5 star is the adjustable shelves inside fridge. They’re not ideal for extra beverage storage.

Stays cool even outside temperature goes over 105. Even though this is garage ready I was a little worried because the temperature was extremely hot. Storage was adequate and I could switch door handles easily. I'll have to see how long it'll run without problems but it's running good so far.
