I hurt my back trying to reach for items on the bottom shelves. It did not come with ice cube trays either so I was glad we saved the old ones from the four year old fridge that died. Hoping this one lasts since we paid so much for it. I would be happier about the purchase if it was not so short.

Posted .For refrigerators to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run most of the time. They now have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time making them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is running. This design also ensures consistent temperatures in the fresh food and freezer sections. We do offer descriptions of the normal sounds you can expect to hear on Page 19 of the Owner's Manual. If you click on the Features tab and scroll all the way down, you'll see a link to the manual. When the icemaker is filling with water, the water valve opens and can make a buzzing or humming type of sound that lasts for about 8 seconds every 1- 1 1/2 hours. I filed a BBB complaint and GE replaced it. The new unit worked marginally better until recently. Currently the garage is not cold at all - it is in the 80s. The cold settings are MAX and the fridge is nearly 40 and the freezer is between 5 and 10 degrees. Not cold enough to be safe!
