||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The refrigerator looks nice and works really good , the only problem it has is that the gasket of top door and bottom door don't match making the doors uneven.

Freezer doesn’t stay shut!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have now owned this refrigerator for a little over a year and I felt like I needed to warn people. Unless you VERY gently shut the refrigerator door, the freezer pops open! We’re not talking a slamming of the door, just a normal closing as you’re walking away will do it. I have now had to throw away everything in my freezer three times because non family members have gone out to grab a drink, shut the door as they turned to walk in and not realized they’ve inadvertently opened the freezer. That one soda just cost me about $100 in ruined food. I’ll be calling GE today to see if they offer some sort of fix, but unless you want to keep throwing away all the food in your freezer, I wouldn’t recommend. I’ll update post if they offer a solution. And yes, I’m kind of an idiot for being lazy and not dealing with this before the one year mark. That’s on me…ugh!

Posted .Hello- We are so very sorry to hear you lost food. We can understand how frustrating this would be for you. It is not unusual on a two-door refrigerator for one door to pop open when the other door is being closed. The refrigerator and freezer sections are connected by air channels to allow air to pass between them. Slamming or vigorously pushing a door shut forces air from one cavity into the other, often pushing the second door open. Please take a look at the following link that will offer some suggestions and tips that can help. https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16979&_ga=2.207091283.1738487097.1651512251-286710438.1648489339&_gac=1.205254052.1649717591.EAIaIQobChMImZ3M7YyN9wIVnGxvBB01OgI6EAAYASAAEgI88_D_BwE If you believe there is an issue with your refrigerator, please reach out to us directly via a private message on Social Media. Posted .Hi there. When measuring the temperature, remember that the frequency of door openings plays a large role in maintaining proper freezer temperatures. Taking an air temperature reading would not be accurate because air temperatures fluctuate any time the door is opened. Place the thermometer in between two packages of food that have been in the freezer for more than 24 hours on the middle shelf (or as close to the middle of the unit as possible) and leave it there for at least three minutes. Putting the thermometer in ice cream that has been in the freezer for at least 12 hours is the best way to check the temperature. We hope this helps! Dying after only a year.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this refrigerator in Nov. 2020 to have a 2nd fridge and freezer for extra storage, especially around the holidays, and now, a little over a year later, the freezer wont get cold enough to freeze anything. It basically feels like the refrigerator portion and that doesn't even seem as cold as it used to. Right before the holidays too, so thats extra nice. Everything stored in the freezer thawed, leaked all over the bottom of the freezer and is now garbage. Really disappointing. Refrigerators are not the kind of thing people should be expected to have to keep replacing.

Posted .Hello. We appreciate you reaching out to us about this situation – we truly hate to hear the freezer isn’t getting cold enough to keep your food frozen, and the refrigerator section also doesn’t feel as cold as it used to. We know anything that causes your food to not freeze properly would be worrying, especially just before the holidays; we truly regret any inconvenience caused. There are multiple factors that can potentially cause an issue with freezing. If the temperature surrounding the unit has been below 32 degrees F or above 110 degrees F, cooling can be adversely affected. Moving the temperature control from the recommended standard setting of 3 to the colder settings of 4 or 5 is recommended for trouble with lack of cooling. If you have already done so, you may want to check for possible frost buildup in the freezer; a buildup can cause an issue with cooling as well. Frost can be reduced by making sure the doors close and seal (and the gasket is not loose or damaged). If you continue to have this problem after troubleshooting, our Service Department is available at 1-800-432-2737; a technician would be able to properly diagnose and repair the refrigerator. We hope your refrigerator is back in good working condition again soon, so you can enjoy your extra storage without further inconvenience. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, we are always glad to assist. -Sarah@GEA

Go for a better built model/
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW is this refrigerator built cheap! As a Garage-Ready refrigerator you would expect customers to load it with soda and beer, but don't do it! With 24 cans of soda and a 12-pack of beer the full width shelf was sagging so much I was afraid it was going to break in half, so I took the beer off the shelf and put it in the large door shelf. Well, when you open the door, the shelf falls off. I would not recommend this refrigerator to a friend.

Problems with freezer door
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The freezer door on this refrigerator pops open when the bottom door is closed and at other times, leading to things starting to thaw until the open door is noticed. I definitely am not happy with this purchase.
