    Dont Buy GE!!!!!

    Bought this Fridge GYE22GYNFS 1 month ago and had problems from day 1. First was a rattling noise because there is a dangling cord which was easy fix. Main problem is that it vibrates like crazy which i can hear at the opposite side of house in my closed door office. The place I bought it from sent a repairman and they couldnt fix so they said we needed to get GE Case opened so he had to come back out and get on phone with GE and they played them a recording and agreed it was loud and they were going to send someone out to replace condenser. So a week later when he came out he opened the back and sat on hold with his team and then when rep came on phone he said its fine and they werent going to do anything and left. I will be leaving reviews on every site I can and contacting Better Business Bureau so I can try and help unsuspecting customer get taken advantage of by GE.

    I’ve been dealing with Best Buy for over three weeks trying to get my refrigerator fixed or replaced under their extended warranty, and it’s been an absolute nightmare. Their own technician diagnosed a broken compressor, yet they continue to send out techs who don’t repair compressors and do nothing to actually resolve the issue. We’ve been left without a working refrigerator in high temperatures, and the way Best Buy has handled this situation is not only disrespectful but completely inconsiderate. There is zero urgency, no accountability, and no real support, despite the fact that we paid extra for their extended warranty expecting peace of mind. Instead, all we’ve gotten is frustration and delay. At this point, it feels like a scam. Do not waste your money on Best Buy’s extended warranty – it is useless when you actually need it. We will never shop at Best Buy again.”

    Buyer beware known compressor problem & no parts

    We didn't pick out this fridge it was placed by the builder. From day one I didn't really care for it. The left door storage is useless as over half is taken up by the ice maker then there are two little door shelves that are so narrow they only hold things like hot sauce bottles or squeeze pouches of applesauce. The french doors don't close smoothly and there is just not much space. When opening the freezer the top slide out drawer comes out with the main drawer every time. I have to hold the bottom drawer with one hand and shove the top one back in to get to the bottom area. The water dispenser drips for a few minutes after filling a cup. I kid you not that issue is in the manual and they say you should wait for drips to stop after filling. If you select crushed ice plan to get more crushed ice on the floor than in your glass as it goes everywhere. Now fast forward to less than 2 months in our brand new home and the fridge starts making this little clicking noise than a buzz for about 10 seconds and I noticed freezer pops were a bit soft. I moved as much as I could to our other fridge in the garage because I had a feeling it was about to die. The noise starts getting more frequent as the day goes on. Now it is doing it about every 90sec to 2minutes. The few things that we left in the fridge/freezer are completely warm. GE is "currently experiencing longer than normal wait times" so says the voice recording and when I try and schedule a service online it looks like about 2 weeks before they can come. Top it off with a lot of reviews are saying that this model has a known compressor issue and people who are able to get a service appt. are finding the part is back ordered with no known ship date. So looks like we will most likely have to just take the lose on this and get a new fridge.

    GE Wants Your Money - $100/yr Subscription Fridge

    $100/yr Subscription Fridge We've owned the Fridge for over a year now. Works fine little noisier than the last one. GE really wants to get your $$$ with their XWFE $55 water filters. They've put RFID tags on them now so you can only use their filters and not $5-8 dollar stock filters that are as good and actually probably better in most cases. There are some workarounds but no matter what you will have some form of a popup on your fridge because of this. One star because of this shameless tactic by GE.

    Do not buy

    Bought this refrigerator along with matching appliances not even 4 years ago and it’s a heavy paperweight. Freon leak and not salvageable. I have never spent this kind of $ and in such a short amount of time to have to dispose and repurchase. My biggest mistake was but buying the extended warranty but who knew it was garbage. I would have hoped for at least 10 years but my understanding is everything is made cheaply anymore. Very upsetting!

    Avoid at all costs

    This refrigerator has 3 main issues. 1) it's noisy, 2) it drips water all over the floor every time you open the left door, and 3) the compressor quit in year 3 with a repair estimate of over $1000. Two different service people recommended junking it, which we did. Both strongly recommended against buying another GE refrigerator.

    Refrigerator broke less than a month after it was installed. Compressor locked up. As others have said here clicking and buzzing noise started and got progressively worse until it stopped cooling altogether. Repair person said he has made the same repair on this same model countless times in the last few weeks. It is a well-known defect in the compressor and GE continues to sell this product knowing it will break. Calls to customer service result in wait times of over one hour. Upon finally speaking to someone, they are very unhelpful. Terrible product and even worse customer service. GE has really deteriorated recently. Do not buy this refrigerator.

    Bought a new refrigerator from this company and service contract. Refrigerator broke last week. Service guy came out today. Going to have to wait another 30 days for a repair ON A REFRIGERATOR! What kind of company treats their customers this way. How do you tell your customer they have to wait 30 days get a repair on a major appliance? Never buy from these people and definitely never never buy a service contract from them.

    Buyer Beware: Complete Failure in Only Three Years

    I wanted to provide a review that sheds light on the longevity and reliability of this product. I bought this fridge from Best Buy in August 2021, paying top dollar for it due to appliance shortages. A mere three years later, it has been replaced due to a leak in the sealed system that I was advised was not worth repairing. The functionality of this fridge was good while it was working. The key here is while working. Having to replace something I paid over 3000 dollars for a mere three years later was a bitter pill to swallow. The fridge has now been replaced with another brand. I can honestly say I will never purchase another GE appliance again. I do not believe the quality is there since the acquisition by Haier.

    Awful refrigerator. We have had it for a little over a year and the compressor has gone 2x. Tech said it can't be fixed and GE will not honor the warranty they gave us after it died in the first 6 months. They want to charge us for a new refrigerator.

    We had this fridge for a week before returning it. It looks nice and everything, but the compressor was running all the time, and it was LOUD—you could hear it from the floor above. FWIW, Best Buy was great in taking it back, no questions asked, got a Bosch instead and loving it.

    Terrible appliance. First one didn’t last a year and the second one now leaking after a year and a half. Both water filtration systems leaked and always left calcium build up no matter how many times I wiped it clean. Looks ugly from the front every time someone tries to get water. Do not buy, very disappointed even with the warranty.

    I bought this refrigerator in January 2022 and it had a complete compressor failure in April of 2022. I lost $400 dollars in groceries that GE will not cover. The parts to fix the refrigerator will not be in until June so I'll be without a refrigerator for over two months. Do yourself a favor and stay away from GE products. They're unreliable junk,
