GE has proven to be a better brand for me. My last one was Samsung but it only lasted 2 years. I bought my GE 5 years ago and have not had any issues at all. Loving it!

First and foremost I want to state that I feel this is a well made quality product, but a poorly designed product. The interior layout and spacing between shelves is frustrating at best. There are only 4 locations you can locate the 3 shelves severely limiting spacing options. This creates a problem placing items taller than an average soda bottle on any of the shelves. I believe the designers intent was for taller items to go in the doors, however once you put a gallon of milk in the bottom of the shelf of a door (as it's the only place it fits without laying it on its side) you're out of 30% of your real-estate for taller items. And god help you if you want to put a bottle of wine in this thing. The produce and deli drawers are a joke. Also unless you can place this in a wide open space where you can open the doors 180 degrees you're going to have a hard time reaching the back 25% of your deli drawer (it is an adventure when you finally pull the fridge out of its cubby and see what science experiments are happening back there). The water dispenser is aweful and it you only have 1 hand you're out if luck. Plus the angle it shoots the water is backwards towards the deli drawer and so close the inside edge you can barely get a glass under it. I used to have a side by side fridge that was listed as a full cubic foot smaller but it somehow fit twice as much food as this thing. The day I had this fridge delivered I emediately had to go out and buy a deep freezer. I wish I had saved 500 bucks and bought the GE side by side.

The color is great. That being said. That's is the only good thing about it. Water dispenser freezes up constantly. You have to increase the freezer temperature to keep it from freezing. Which means ice cream is always half melted. Contacted GE. I was told they are aware of the problem and should put more stuff in the refrigerator in front of the filter. REALLY! That is thier solution to a major design flaw. I do not recommend this product at all.

NOISY - Obnoxious buzzing sound when running. It can be heard in other rooms through closed doors. Unfortunate as otherwise is functional and woks well.

Has had a compressor noise since purchase. Now the noise is constant and so loud it can be heard throughout the house.

It is a fridge! Working fine so far. The water dispenser design is garbage however. My wife likes it because it is hidden. I hate it because getting water from the dispenser requires 2 hands while leaving the door open as opposed to 1 hand with the door closed on our old fridge. And if you like to fill a pitcher like my wife does, the door stays open even longer just for water. Kind of a dumb design if you ask me... they should have found a better way. I wish we would have ditched the water line altogether and just gotten a Brita pitcher to fill from the tap.

Expensive repairs for average wear and tear

After three years of ownership, a spring in the door broke that prevents the door from shutting fully. Contacted GE and was told that I'd need to buy a full mullion assembly ($117) for the door just to get the spring. Had this issue with another fridge long ago, and I just bought a new spring (~$1) for it. Annoying.

Our fridge crapped out just before the holidays, so we needed one super fast. It came as expected. However, the spec sheet on both GE’s web site and Best Buy’s website said it would be under 70”. Actual measurement is over 71”. It wouldn’t fit. Christmas canceled. GE stinks!

Had for 5 years. Leaks inside, and has for years. Now motor gone out in the refrig portion. Started making noise but still cooled. Noise went away and so did the cooling. Freezer still working. Repair guy said there are 3 motors and not sure which it out. One $290!!, one $90 and one $70. Plus labor. So if one of the cheaper motors, I'll fix. The $290 motor, I'll have a large paper weight.
We appreciate your review and look forward to hearing from you soon!

1 year warranty??
After 3 years the freezer is not cold enough. Coils are clean. Our local appliance repair companies don't service GE because they can't get parts. Now what to do with this $1700 lemon?

Thank you for taking the time to write this review! We’re so sorry to hear that your freezer isn’t cooling enough. We understand just how frustrating this can be; therefore, we’ll be happy to help you troubleshoot this. There may be a few reasons why your refrigerator isn’t cooling properly. First, your refrigerator door may not be sealing properly. Second, if the doors are opened frequently or left open for long periods of time, especially during seasons of warm weather, this can result in an increase in temperature. For more troubleshooting advice, we highly recommend reaching out to us on social media! We hope this helps, and we look forward to hearing from you. All the best – Matthew@GEA

Drawers are flimsy and loud when opening and closing. Very cheap seeming. Water dispenses tepid, not cold water. Water dispenser is difficult to use and difficult to avoid spilling water when filling glasses.
