Not the dishwasher you grew up with
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace a 2008 Estate dishwasher. Pros: - Very quiet compared to our last dishwasher. - Even though it is the same physical size as any dishwasher, it is much roomier inside. For a family of seven this gets the job done easily. - The top rack for silverware is EXCELLENT. Do you have babies? Put your bottle caps, nipples, and inserts here. Then put the bottles and bulb tubes on the middle rack. The top rack has plenty of room for the rest of the silverware. - The bottom rack comes with a compartment for other utensils but we took it out since we don't use it. Cons: - The environmentalists have their nose in your business and put regulations on how much water your appliances can use, despite the fact that water is an EXTREMELY cheap utility. In effect, a cycle will last nearly twice as long as your previous washer, but uses less water. - This will not get utensils cleaner than your previous washer. It does a good job on the dishes but for the top rack items scrub off as much as you can before loading. - It feels plastic-y and fragile inside so just be careful

New review bought this in April 2019!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this dishwasher in April 2019 and I woke up this Sunday morning and it died on me completely! I spent about $600 on it and use it about 3 times a week so for the past 6 1/2 years. This is ridiculous! My last dishwasher lasted me 25 years and I never had a problem. It just got old and I wanted to replace it when I redid my kitchen so I even had a warranty on it and I only used it once before it ended so I don’t know what they’re doing nowadays, but all I can say is they are not building anything to last!

Terrible GE Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our experience with GE Appliances has been an absolute nightmare. I purchased a GE dishwasher for my in-laws because their old GE died. I purchased the dishwasher for them to relieve them of burden while my father-in-law was in the ICU having just learned that he had stage 4 metastatic cancer. When the new dishwasher was installed, the nightmare began. The dishwasher LEAKED WATER from around the door on day one. For months my in-laws have been subjected to one repair attempt after another to finally be given a replacement offer. Since the model was already not manufactured anymore, the consumer relations associate offered a choice of 3 different dishwashers and “encouraged” me to take as much time as needed to look at the different models and call back on Monday. After speaking with my in-laws and settling on a replacement, I called to inform GE of the decision, only to be told that we needed to pay the UPGRADE COST OF $268. NEVER was I told that ANY of the models given would have ANY COSTS associated with it. I had to call my mother-in-law while she was at her husbands bedside in the hospital to inform her of the costs and give her a choice of different dishwashers. After this experience, I WILL NEVER buy another GE product, and I would suggest others do not as well. The dishwasher is crap and the customer experience has been even WORSE. The amount of time that has been invested in phone calls and meeting the repairman has been over burdensome, and the lack of integrity of the consumer relations department has been stunning. Do yourself a favor and AVOID GE.

Misrepresented in the specifications and photos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just hate being duped. This dishwasher does not come with the pictured WiFi device (nowhere does it say it is optional). It also says “yes” in the specifications under App-controlled (does not say optional). But, you guessed it! It costs extra. When I called Best Buy, the guy was nice but said. Should have looked in “frequently bought together” to see that some people bought the controller. Well, why would I care what other people bought at the same time, and why can’t I trust the photos and specs? You might also want to know that the 1 hour wash takes 113 minutes if you want them dry. Also, the “clean” light goes out the first time you open the door after a wash. So if you don’t unload it right away, the rest of your family puts dirty dishes in it. This is old school. It seems to clean ok and looks nice for a cheap dishwasher, but, yeah, I’m angry at being duped.

Incomplete product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn’t recieve the power cord with this product. Even though this work fine I had to figure it out how to make it work. This is dissatisfying since at least should sell the product complete to operate. Hard to say that I am totally happy with the product bought in Best Buy Outlet

Good dishwasher that broke too soon.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this dishwasher for 4 years. It broke a few months ago and a repairman came out to fix it, he said the computer board on it broke and would be more expensive to fix it with a new board than to get a new dishwasher.

Light usage - Stopped working after 3 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.3 years in, the dishwasher stopped turning on. And mind you, we did not even use it like crazy. Our frequency was more like once every couple of days. Anyway, we had a technician come over who said its main control board is dead and needs to be replaced (along with the main control panel as recommended by GE). So their quote is higher than what a brand new one is selling for right now. If I were you, I would stay away

Satisfied for 3.5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The dishwasher worked as expected for approximately 3.5 years. I was very satisfied with the performance up until the UI control panel no longer lit up or functioned. The UI control panel would temporarily function after disconnecting the power but would then quit after a few cycles. This continued for a few power resets but then hasn't come back on now for more than three weeks. I feel like this dishwasher should have worked as expected for more than 3.5 years.

Cheap electronics. Poor quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this dishwasher in August 2019, and it quit working officially in February 2022. It barely made it 2.5 years. Dishwashers should last 5-10 years! This is ridiculous. I will not buy a GE dishwasher again. The repair guy said that the motherboards go back on these dishwashers consistently within the first 1-3 years. Cheap electronics. Poor quality.

NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dishwasher was delivered broken on Wednesday. The install guy hit start and left. It never drained. I tried to run a load of dishes and it groans and then shuts off. In a chat on Wednesday, I wanted to upgrade the dishwasher to a stainless steel tub. After three hours and paying for the upgrade, the agent had charged me for another dishwasher with a plastic tub. I called - wait time 25 minutes - and after another hour, nothing is available in my area. Okay. Schedule a pickup and refund. Team comes Saturday to pick up a damaged range and dishwasher. Team says they can't do it but BB will call me to schedule an installation team to pick it up. NO one ever called. Called Saturday night to follow up and schedule a pickup. Agent promised he would call back if we got disconnected. Of course, we got disconnected and he DID NOT call back. It's now Sunday and after SEVEN PLUS HOURS of customer support, the dishwasher is still in my kitchen. It seems NO ONE is able to schedule a pick-up since they need a "special" team to retrieve the broken dishwasher. The dishwasher may be fine but BB customer support is TERRIBLE. I'm on hold again into my eighth hour of "customer support." I have been transferred to different agents to find someone who can "help" me and I think I'm now on my eighth or ninth agent.

Very common issues with GE dishwashers dyeing 3-4y
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GE Uses a common control board that lasts 3 - 4 years then dies! Search for GE dishwasher problems on the net, the control board problems are all over the place. I was charged $359 for the repair of my 3.5 year old GE dishwasher. The problem isn't just one model of GE dishwasher because they ALL use a common control board and GE is on rev 4 of the board and it still has an unacceptably short life time.

Bad Experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot even give a review of how it works because I can not even hook it up. Did not come with a manual or any of the installation supplied installation parts. There was water all in the dishwater. When I called customer service they said they could not do anything because it said it was still out for delivery, it was delivered 6 hours ago. Not a good experience.

~3-Year Lifespan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broken after 3-years with very little use (1-2 times a month). Online research indicates a defect with the door latch/electronic control board that only lasts around 3-years. With the headaches involved with installing a dishwasher, this model should be avoided.

If you buy this get a warranty, very disappointed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a good dishwasher until the motor failed after just under three years. Single user, not a family, light duty, machine ran 2-3 times per week. Motor replacement is seven weeks out and would cost $650.
