Leaks after three years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It started leaking from two different spots after three years. Repairs cost more than the product itself. Sadly this will get lost in time since they change their products yearly so that these reviews don't show up years later. Reddit is a great source for long-lasting reviews. Everyone will tell you GE used to be good but not anymore. Bosch and Miele are the way to go.

Embarrassment of a dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Save your money! The bottom door seal completely deteriorated after 1.5 years causing It to leak. After we replaced it a few months later the seal around the detergent housing failed too! Now at the 2 year mark It is leaking at the bottom from the pump! Absolute garbage of a dishwasher DO NOT BUY!

More like Garbage Electric
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst dishwasher ever. The earlier model of this dishwasher had a latch that broke twice and fixed for $30 replacement DIY. This dishwasher over its lifespan of 2.6 years before it absolutely died had many problems. 1) The bottom agitator broke. 2)_The top panel that shows the button functions pops off with just the touch a shoe at the edge and takes a repairman 90 minutes to put back on because the door needs to disassembled. We ended up just leaving the panel off at the 3rd popoff. 3) The lego-like assembly of all the water connections and bottle jets came apart frequently and had to be put back on. That's a DIY but annoying at its frequency. 4) The door springs broke after 2.4 years which results in a fast heavy drop the floor if you aren't careful and to fix, acquire the parts and pull the whole dishwasher out again to replace. A good design would be to just pull it out a 1/4 way. Never buying GE dishwasher again. Hopefully we'll like the Bosch

General Electric Dishwasher Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.General Electric dishwashers are okay in terms of quietness and quality of cleaning dishes but the rollers are plastic and very cheaply made which can fall off the bottom rack/basket and during drying process melted on mine now rack doesn’t sit flush and we just bought ours a few weeks ago and already having issues. Don’t recommend General Electric dishwashers as I told my wife I was hesitant but since we had range in GE had to match all appliances. DONT BUY GE appliances.

I wanted to like this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I installed the washer to replace a 6 month old Insignia which would not drain the water. Installation went smoothly, and it cleans well, however, there is a high pitch whine noise which is annoying as all get out. I just got this and currently considering returning and going with a different brand due to this high pitch whine.

Absolute junk!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolute junk! Just bought a new Ryan Home in April 2019 and this dishwasher came with the house. I rinse my dishes thoroughly before I put them in the dishwasher. I found standing water at the bottom of my dishwasher in November 2020. No clogs whatsoever. The pump just decided to stop working. After a year and a half and the dishwasher looks brand new still it just stopped working. The cost to get a technician here and a new part makes no sense. So tomorrow I will be buying a brand new dishwasher and setting this other new dishwasher on the curb. DO NOT buy this. If it stopped working on me it will stop working on anyone. GE is no help because the warranty is only for a year.

Most GE dishwasher have this same flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do yourself a favor with any GE dishwasher before you buy it. Take a look at the handle and see how it connects to the door. If there is a plastic piece in between the handle and the door, it will fail. It looks like chrome and matches the door handle but is a terrible design. I have the older model of this but they all seem to have the same flaw. Rather then connect the handle directly to the door so that it is flush, they put a plastic sort of molding on each side of the handle. This is cheap plastic. A dishwasher that gets very hot with steam is not a good place for plastic that gets a lot of pressure every time you open the door. My first one slowly started to crack, then broke apart. Luckily it was less than a year so GE replaced it under warranty. I told the tech that it will fail again after another year because it was plastic. Sure enough, a year later it started to show cracks. Now the plastic finally broke off and the handle is loose again, as I knew it would. I took out an extended warranty just for this and it will not cover it since it is "damge" not mechanical. I watched the tech replace it the first time, it is not an easy repair, he had to take apart the door. So...before you buy any GE dishwasher, look for this flaw.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this dishwasher about a year and a half ago. It no longer works. Wont even turn on. Its ridiculous how these appliances are made these days. $700 down the drain, what a shame.

“Stainless Steel” rusts within a month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stainless steel front shows rust spots after only a month of light use. The vent in the front is a design flaw... the condensation causes rust around the vent and further rust down the side. I contacted GE and they said because this was cosmetic it wasn’t under Warantee so now I have an ugly, rusted dishwasher that is less than a month old.

Posted .Hello Alana, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry your dishwasher has rusted so soon into its lifespan. We understand how that would be frustrating. We recommend you use cleaners that contain Oxalic Acid, such as Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser, as they will remove rust, tarnish, and small blemishes. Use only the liquid cleanser (free of grit) and be sure rub in the direction of the metal grain lines with a damp soft sponge. We hope this helps! -Chris@GEA
