This was a disappointment. Cheaply made, cannot set the blades for a comfortable stream. It is noisy and finicky. We had to call GE the first day we had it. Seems the condenser didn't like the Eco setting with low setting. We struggled to get it settled in the window, and there it will stay. Not bad to look at, but it was a total turn off. Spent too much time acclimating it to our window. Will bear with it a year or two, hopefully it will run a few years, but will not looking at GE models next time.

Posted .We are sorry to hear you had difficulty removing your filter. It is located behind the front grille. To remove the filter, you should slide it from the left side of the unit. Please review page 8 in your manual. This can be found on Best Buys site and on our GE Appliances site. Decently energy efficient as I didn’t see much of an increase in my electric bill. Only thing I don’t like is the side panels must be held in place by screws.

Posted .There are normal operating sounds that you will hear but grinding doesn't sound normal. We recommend reviewing page 15 in your manual and if you feel there is an issue and are sure the unit is installed properly, please take advantage of your warranty. Cheap air conditioner

It is normal to hear pinging noise caused by water being picked up and thrown against the condenser on rainy days or when the humidity is high. This design feature helps remove moisture and improve efficiency. We recommend checking to ensure the rubber drain plug is properly inserted. This plug may be removed during operation to minimize water in the back of the unit; however, removing it will lower the efficiency of your unit.
