    cools the small room fine, but it makes a fairly high pitch noise when it's cooling, and the way it operates sends vibrations out of the machine. For comparison, I have a 5 year old unit that is whisper silent and 0 vibrations in the other room, so pretty terrible that something that was designed 5 years later is such a step down. I'd rather pay an extra $100 for something that is useful. It is so noisy and vibration-y that can't even run it while I'm trying to sleep.

    Filter does not slide in and out easily for cleaning, and this is only the beginning of the second summer I’ve used this air conditioner, and it is already not very cold.

    The a/c was not cooling my 400 sq ft space enough. I had to return it.

      An undersized unit (a lower BTU unit than a room requires) results in the compressor staying on most of the time and the unit not adequately lowering the humidity level and temperature in the room. For a 400 sq ft room, we recommend that you purchase a 9,000-10,000 BTU model. GE_Appliances

    Idk how this got so many great reveiws. But after 2 full days of being on, house sealed up at mid 80s weather and my space is still 75. It's cool(er) but not exactly what I was hoping for.

      We appreciate the feedback. If the room was very hot, it would take longer to cool the room due to heat that is stored in the walls, furniture, rugs and draperies. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up. We also recommend reviewing an online Support article we offer titled: "Air Conditioner - Sizing Guidelines". If you continue to have concerns, please review the warranty statement on Page 17 of the online Owner's Manual.     The cord is too short. GE said there are no serviceable parts if the unit fails during their warranty period and they do not reimburse if you paid for installation; only a credit of an unknown amount is given if the AC fails. The filter can only be removed from the left side vs the front so you need enough clearance to do that.

    Got one new, compressor was gone, and didnt work like it was supposed to. But did get a full refund, nice and easy!

    I purchased this AC just over a year ago and now it’s not working!! This is ridiculous I have another AC that I’ve had for a few years and it works perfect. I can’t believe I wasted money on this piece of crap

    Damaged Product

    It came damanged. Unfortunately, it turns on and fan works, but does not cool. I think the refrigerant tube was damaged because box showed signs of leakage. Thats why it turns on but doesnt cool. Im too lazy to call and deal with customer service...so thats on me.

    This thing worked great, except the filter is flimsy and breaks easily when being replaced. Less than a year after I purchased it, the filter can't be changed due to the damage, and I asked LG what the replacement part model was. They told me it's no longer made, and that I should buy a new air conditioner. Don't buy LG is the lesson

    I wanted to love this air conditioner but it is so loud when the compressor kicks on. I kept it because we were in the middle of a heatwave otherwise I would have sent it right back.

    [Employee of bestbuy] The unit worked very well for my room, however it decided to stop working entirely after just over a year of light use. I would recommend buying best buy’s geek squad protection plan for this unit.

    I don’t know if it’s just me cause I run hot but my room is space and it doesn’t get cold I have to put a fan on as well I’m not satisfied I want to return it

      We would like to clarify some information regarding the size of your air conditioner. This model has a 6000 BTU rating, its designed for rooms from 150 - 250 sq ft. It is important that the capacity of a room air conditioner to be the right size for the room being cooled. An improperly-sized air conditioner can result in a cold, clammy environment or an inadequately cooled room.     The worst air conditioner I've ever had! It barely lasted, it's garbage! I do not recommend that air conditioner at all!

We recommend checking the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker, also make sure that the unit's plug is pushed completely into the outlet.     First one was damaged out of the box, looked like it had been dropped on the corner. Second one made a horrible knocking sound after being on for 20 or so minutes. Returned would not recommend.
