Posted .For refrigerators to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run most of the time. They now have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time making them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is running. This design also ensures consistent temperatures in the fresh food and freezer sections. We do offer descriptions of the normal sounds you can expect to hear on Page 19 of the Owner's Manual. If you click on the Features tab and scroll all the way down, you'll see a link to the manual. When the icemaker is filling with water, the water valve opens and can make a buzzing or humming type of sound that lasts for about 8 seconds every 1- 1 1/2 hours. It is an ergonomics disaster. I have to get on my knees to see what is on the bottom shelf. The freezer is so far extended out from the fridge shelves that it is difficult to find what you are looking for. LOOK BEFORE YOU BUY!!
