First range hood we received was defective. Had to order a second replacement hood.

I want this range hood replaced since it has two dents in the front of the hood. It came from the factory with the dents.

Contemporary and stylish, this looks GREAT with the stove it serves!

I soon as I open the box I saw a big scratch and Watch bent Disappointed

Bad design. Sharp corners that you can bump your head on. Outdated Halogen lamps. Old hood better design, wish you would have just copied it.

Out of the box this range hood does not work. I bought this GE range hood and was told it would be an easy installation. After installing it per directions the fan on the hood does not work but the lights do work. I have tried contacting Best Buy Support and GE support who hung up on me and have not been able to get this resolved. I am truly dissatisfied with this purchase.

The vent hood works great and fit perfectly in our installation. We replaced a 30 year old vert hood and had no issues. He have not yet tried to clean the filter, but it is going to be easy to remove and run it thru the dishwasher.

Dont buy appliances from bestbuy. 2 weeks and I haven’t recieved my stuff

Was great for the first 4 years then the fan started to make some funny noise but then eventually operated normally

Range good is good overall, however one of the filter hook mechanism broke and keeps coming off. They should come up with a better mechanism than the current spring based one.

Got the whole thing mounted, turned it on and the fan rubs horribly against the plastic housing. So I take the thing down again. Have to remove all the plastic housing and adjust it. Of course if you take it down then the screws tend to strip because they also are cheap junk. Had to find new screws, now stupid thing is lopsided because metal mounting plate holes are also mangled and won't hold firm, also mounting plates were bent from the start. Now going to have to run holes through the metal to firmly secure it. Still could not replace every screw back in the cheap plastic housing or the fan hits it which isn't very helpful considering I'm externally venting the stupid thing. Only positive thing I can say it is realtivly quiet once the fan isn't hitting the plastic housing, and it does look nice once actually in place. Hope it dies soon so I can get something better, probably can't return it at this point since I had to disassemble the whole entire thing and put it back together and have destroyed the metal housing having to mount and dismount it. Don't waster your money on this.

The black is not true black. It's definitely gray. I anticipated that it would match our black stove but it does not. Even from a distance, it's very clear they're different colors. Will be returning.

My only concern is the bulbs. After less than a month of use the one of the bulbs stop working. I ll try to change it. But i am not sure that yhe problem will be solved

Looks nice. Fingerprints clean off easily. Bright light. Only good things about this! Like others have said, fan is on left side not centered. Doesn’t make any sense why they’d do that. Whenever I cook on right side of stove it doesn’t suck the air out properly. Have had less than 2 years and the motor stopped working. My last fan lasted 16 years! Not even 2 for this. Buy another brand!

Doesn't really deserve a one even. Fairly flimsy for the price ... light is very poor and got really hot ... fan does just ok. The worst is the design of the vent ... the location of it is just totally wrong!! It's only about 1/2 in from the back of the unit .... whereas the old hood vent was 1 1/2 inches from the back. Installed exactly as shown and stated in the instructions on a recessed bottom cabinet, so I had to use the brackets. It would not line up with the screws from the old hood. Put the brackets on, hung the unit only to find out the rectangular vent was snugly flush with the back of the cabinet, making it physically impossible to connect the adapter on the vent duct from the roof. So I had to take it down, move the brackets as far forward as I could ... which made them too long, sticking out from under the cabinet, which then had to be trimmed off. Even the screws provided were just barely long enough to hold (so far!)Also, the cutouts were very poor ... had to bend the hood up in several places just to get it out, and only one screw hole for the rectangle vent. The thing is, by the time you get to where you see the results of the poor vent placement ... it's too late to take it back or do anything about it!

I’d like to write you with a recent terrible experience with the JVX 5300. We just tried to install it. My husband does mechanical installations on yachts for a living, so it should have been straightforward. The fan was crooked — rubbing on the housing - attached with a stripped out screw. He fixes that - seemed easier than a return - and an hour later - the hood is screwed in. Won’t work. Turns out a black power wire wasn’t attached to anything inside the hood. Without a wire diagram, not included, there’s no way to try to correctly attach it. It left the factory without even being correctly assembled for installation. So, while the parts were all included - technically - it was assembled at the factory in such a haphazard and zero quality control way - its impossible to install and is defective. Very disappointed with the product. It is unbelievable that the GE name is on it.

The first unit was damaged, the second unit was missing the grease filters. The last unit, the blower housing was missing several screws and I had to find screws for it. The carbon filter was to be mounted to blower housing with two screws, both were missing. I had to drill housing to mount filter with my own screws. GE Mexico has some serious quality control issues. I do not recommend this product.

Motor died after 2 years, replacement motor died after another year. Horrible design flaw in the motor. Not worth buying the replacement motor. If you check GE's parts website the motor model (WB26X24861) for this unit has 29 reviews and they are all 1 star reviews due to failure even AFTER replacement!
