First of all, they are halogen which make it hot and take way more energy than an LED. The worst part is that they are impossible to change! Good luck even getting the bulbs out let alone replacing them. The wires become unattached from the housing when you get the bulb out making it absolutely impossible to get the new bulb in. There is no way to get into the unit. I was able the first time to get GE to fix it because it was still under warranty. The second time, they want to charge me $138 just to look at it - not even change the bulb. So you have to schedule a service appointment and pay hundreds of dollars just to get a light bulb changed. Buyer beware!

The first one was damaged but Brandon at the Vallejo, CA store made it right. We're now happy and cooking almost every night!

Do NOT allow Best Buy to install this thing

I had to remove mine to do tile work and discovered that the Best Buy "installer" simply drove sheet metal screws through the walls of the vent hood and directly in to the cabinet side walls! I now have jagged metal holes in several locations on the vent hood.
