    Dying after only a year.

I bought this refrigerator in Nov. 2020 to have a 2nd fridge and freezer for extra storage, especially around the holidays, and now, a little over a year later, the freezer wont get cold enough to freeze anything. It basically feels like the refrigerator portion and that doesn't even seem as cold as it used to. Right before the holidays too, so thats extra nice. Everything stored in the freezer thawed, leaked all over the bottom of the freezer and is now garbage. Really disappointing. Refrigerators are not the kind of thing people should be expected to have to keep replacing.

Hello. We appreciate you reaching out to us about this situation – we truly hate to hear the freezer isn’t getting cold enough to keep your food frozen, and the refrigerator section also doesn’t feel as cold as it used to. We know anything that causes your food to not freeze properly would be worrying, especially just before the holidays; we truly regret any inconvenience caused. There are multiple factors that can potentially cause an issue with freezing. If the temperature surrounding the unit has been below 32 degrees F or above 110 degrees F, cooling can be adversely affected. Moving the temperature control from the recommended standard setting of 3 to the colder settings of 4 or 5 is recommended for trouble with lack of cooling. If you have already done so, you may want to check for possible frost buildup in the freezer; a buildup can cause an issue with cooling as well. Frost can be reduced by making sure the doors close and seal (and the gasket is not loose or damaged). If you continue to have this problem after troubleshooting, our Service Department is available at 1-800-432-2737; a technician would be able to properly diagnose and repair the refrigerator. We hope your refrigerator is back in good working condition again soon, so you can enjoy your extra storage without further inconvenience. If you have any other inquiries or concerns, we are always glad to assist. -Sarah@GEA GE_Appliances

WOW is this refrigerator built cheap! As a Garage-Ready refrigerator you would expect customers to load it with soda and beer, but don't do it! With 24 cans of soda and a 12-pack of beer the full width shelf was sagging so much I was afraid it was going to break in half, so I took the beer off the shelf and put it in the large door shelf. Well, when you open the door, the shelf falls off. I would not recommend this refrigerator to a friend.

    Very Noticeable Noise Level

    Posted .

This replaced a 15yr.-old Kenmore top freezer with the same cubics. Temperatures, as measured with my own refrigerator/freezer thermometers, are in the correct zones with the compressor activating about once per half-hour. When it does, the compressor noise level is very noticeable with occasional low gurgling sounds. Shelving is ok but the deli drawer is rather small, and it should have been placed to the left or right of center so as to not interfere with the unit's light which shines right over it. Does not come with ice cube tray, butter dish or egg tray. Overall, I do recommend this...if you don't mind a noticeable noise level.

Newer refrigerators may sound different than older models. Because they use updated technology and include more features, it’s normal to hear them running during regular operation. You can view a list of normal sounds by checking our article titled "Refrigerator - Normal Sounds and Noises Made" on our GE Appliances website. We will be passing your comments about the trays and the deli drawer over to our product team to review. GE_Appliances

SUPER NOISY! Received this refrigerator 2 weeks ago and it sounds like there is a jack hammer inside. I can hear it two rooms away with the doors closed and it's getting worse by the minute. 4 days after the return window Best Buy is telling me there is nothing they can do and I have to deal with a GE. Nice customer service. This will be my last purchase from Best Buy. The team that dropped off the fridge put a 2ft long scuff in my hardwood floor. Thanks Best Buy

The freezer door on this refrigerator pops open when the bottom door is closed and at other times, leading to things starting to thaw until the open door is noticed. I definitely am not happy with this purchase.

This is advertised as capable of operating in a garage. It's not. Have had two technicians out to look at it, and the bottom line is that it will never work properly in the garage. I feel totally misled, and would return it if possible.

Would I buy this one again - no. The seal around the freezer was molded incorrectly by the factory, so when we started it up, we faced a frost issue internally. Getting BB to come and 'Look' at the issue - well let's just say they are dragging their feet.

    Odd design

Seemingly odd design. Texture is on the sides not the front so tons of fingerprints which are constant since you have to push the door close if there is any weight in the doors. Shelf options in fridge are also odd. Too much space or not enough. Odd narrow door shelf on the very bottom but the door shelf above it protrudes so the bottom shelf is difficult to get to. It is crazy loud but does sequence on and off consistently. Size is good. Temp is good.

Fridge looks good! Not nearly as well made, though ,as the almost 25 year old unit we replaced!! Also , the bottom door shelf makes NO sense! Really small and sits way far back and beneath next shelf up! Quite unusable! Seems to cool well and hopefully, will be less expensive as far as electricity usage.
