Received 2 different units with the same problem. The installer of the Frigidaire replacement said every GE has installed the levelers vent.

Very annoying. Take off the plastic before you assemble it!

The blue plastic is used to protect the finish, and we certainly understand your annoyance with it. You can use a razor blade to score the film around the edges so it can be removed, then remove any remaining film with tweezers. Horrible not "garage ready", does not meet spec

I filed a BBB complaint and GE replaced it. The new unit worked marginally better until recently. Currently the garage is not cold at all - it is in the 80s. The cold settings are MAX and the fridge is nearly 40 and the freezer is between 5 and 10 degrees. Not cold enough to be safe!
