Will get loud

It died right after the warranty expired!

Then it died. Now it just runs and runs and extracts no water from the air. $200 for one year of operation! Very dissatisfied customer here!

Is there a helicopter in my room?

The issue is the noise. I am pretty sure the device was assembled incorrectly. It rattles, hums and gyrates like a helicopter ready to take off. So trying to get help. Not gonna happen. Best buy, nope. GE nope. They sent a repair person to my home and want to charge 114 dollars. They get there and tell me they can not work on it. The appliance has to be sent in. GE has never contacted me back to explain the process. Never again. All my appliances uses to be GE. Afterba fridge, stove and now this having issues. Never again GE.

Died just after warranty

LED number display started looking faded or only partly displaying numbers after 9 months or so. Device completely died after 15 months. Of course the warranty is 12 months. Does not even power on. Was using in the basement running on "smart dry" mode roughly 12 hours a day.

User interface worked for less than 2 months

It is now May 10th, 2021 and the user interface has stopped responding. It still runs but there is no way to change the fan speed, the humidity level, or to turn the power off (without unplugging the machine). It does work well at removing the humidity. I called in to GE to activate the limited warranty.

Poor design, worse build quality, DON'T BUY!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even if this hadn't been defective when purchased, the design, quality and packaging is of such poor quality I don't think GE is ever worth buying ANY product from ever again. Since the unit was misassembled and did not work right out of the box I can't say how well it would work if it ever actually ran. The only thing worse than the product itself was the manual. The lack of real helpful information is shocking. But they misinform the user in multiple languages, so they do have diversity covered.

Didn’t even last a year

GE won’t service but will send a goodwill certificate to buy another one which I won’t touch a GE product with a 10’ stick ! You live and learn I guess !

Failed within 30 days

The unit is also extremely loud, and uses a lot of power, you will almost certainly have a noticeable increase on your power bill, as the unit uses more electricity than advertised. I would look elsewhere for a dehumidifier.

Control Panel Stopped working after 17 days.

You can press them but nothing happens. I know these don't last forever, but 17 days....and TWO days after it being non-returnable really hurts my feelings. (ha) Next purchase will be from a store that allows for 30 days.

Had promise but disappointed

Don't bother

Shortly thereafter, the motor started making lots of noise -- clacking/grinding and twice as loud as before. Looking online for a fix, I saw a number of reviews from buyers experiencing similar issues in the first days and weeks of ownership. I'm giving the 50-pint version a try now. Don't bother with this model.
